Green Dress Death Match: Round 2: MMK agate print draped cowl

The second green dress is here! I've already returned the Suzi Chin, as it wasn't slipping into my wardrobe easily at all.

I belatedly realized that the color was not showing up well with my flash. 1-3 are the most true to life. It is a lightweight, slinky knit, which I worried would show every lump and bump, but it actually looks pretty good at the hips. I really like the draping at the tummy and the textural print.

Questions:
Does this one make me look more wide and rectangular than usual?

This color is closer to the teal I usually wear in winter - is it a better color for me?

Is this style UWP-able? Or, like the Suzi Chin, is it also too sweet for me?

All thoughts and critiques welcome!

ETA: More pics with jackets, since some of you mentioned its better by itself.

I like this dress about a 1000x more than the other one! It looks fab in terms of color, UWPness, fit, work-appropriateness, etc. etc. I think it's a great addition to your wardrobe!

Oh this dress is terrific on you Rae! I love the richer colour, the drapey shape in the front, and how shall I say this diplomatically....the way it makes your booty look (in an appropriate way of course)!

FAB!!!!! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous on you, and I can see it working with the rest of your wardrobe instantly! In fact, I can't wait to see how you will wear it.

It is SO much more UWP. Now why, I wonder? These are both draped clingy knit dresses in a greenish colour. So what is the difference in the vibe? Is it the variegated colour here? The deeper teal? Somebody with better analytic skills than I will have this answer, I know it.

And now, I want to go buy this dress for myself!

I'm looking at the pictures again Rae and I'm sure this is going to come out all wrong, but I mean it in the most positive of ways....somehow the other green dress was too ladylike for your style. It had more of a "va-va-voom" quality to it. Now this dress still hugs your curves but not in such an obvious manner and the drapey front lends itself to topping with more fitted cropped jackets. Just my thoughts...

I love the cut of this dress on you Rae! I don't know if it's the camera flash or what, but in photo #4 the color almost looks too cool for you, like it's popping off your skin. Could just be the photo of course!

No contest! This one's waaaay more successful, I think. Looks good with both your boots (teal does that, doesn't it, play with both warm and cool colours?), looking good with tan jacket too... Throw a few other toppers at it before you decide for sure? You did want this to work for work, primarily, right?

Suz, I know! The devil is in the details, I guess. The SC was a much softer color, so maybe that went a long way.

I quite like it, Rae. I think the pattern adds more dimensions to the dress that the solid color and the color is very nice on you. It should also play nicely with your wardrobe colors as well.

I liked the first one with the white jacket and booties but the deeper color and variation is prettier on you. I like it with the longer sweater more than the shorter jackets but it looks great any way you wear it.

No clingy lumps or bumps on my monitor.

The color (even if "off" in photos by a bit) is so much more "you" than the other dress. I like the kind of RATE tie-dye effect this one has. Short jackets are my favorite as toppers as that is a look you do very well.

Oh this one is a keeper! When you compare them side by side, you can see how this one suits your style better.

The color variations will give you more flexibility for all seasons. The green of the other dress reads too spring-y.

The shape of this one is less body con than the other.

This dress plays nice with all your boot selections.

Wow, this dress is so awesome! (Thanks AJ for the side by side because I missed the other one and was curious to see the difference). You DO look like an Urban Warrior Mermaid! You need to wear it for the nature challenge tomorrow, it would be perfect! It also reminds me of the Italian paper you can get in Florence, you know those photo albums that you can buy that have the swirly paisley paper covers?

Do you have a link to this dress? I've never heard of the brand MMK. Awesome find! I love it with the jackets too, especially the black leather ones and love it with your Frye boots!

Natalie, I had something picked out for tomorrow, but it is tempting to take this baby out instead! Hey, it does look like that fancy paper - now it will remind me of Florence, too. The dress is Michael Michael Kors... sorry, I was so lazy I didn't type it out until now. It's currently on sale at 6pm.com! I got the size small.

I missed the thread about the other green dress. I actually like them both. If you can only keep one, keep the dress that is more versatile and/or easier to wear.
