Gap slim black pants: should I go back for any of these?

Tried on a bunch of the black pants at Gap today. These are all cotton based fabrics, which is perfect for me as I want to replace my BR Martin skinnies, which are a poly/rayon/etc blend that is too hot and itchy for me.

I am generally between size 8 and 10 in gap pants.

#1: Ultra skinny size 10. The Really skinnies fit almost exactly like my old Martins and are really comfy.
#2: Ultra skinny size 8. Looks exactly the same in the photo as the 10 but IRL I felt like I looked slimmer in the smaller size, maybe because they are a little more girdling.
#3: True straight size 8. I feel like these might be too loose in the leg to be cigarette pants. These were actually a bit long, so the bottom is folded up about 1". There was no 10 in the store to try. You can't see them here, but the pockets bulge a little on these, so I might size up if I were to get these. I worry the legs would look even looser then though.
#4: Slim cropped size 10. They didn't have black in my size so I tried the red. I'd get the black though. Size 8 wouldn't zip over my hips. I hate the length but I can order talls online to get them to be longer.

What do you think? Any of these worth going back for?

I like #1 and #2 best. What are the pants made out of? Did you do a sit test with them?

I like what's pictured in #2 and #3. I would size up in #3 if there is pocket pulling. The extra looseness from sizing up may not be bad, it's kind of what's trending. (an easier fit)

I like #2. They have an ease about them. The fit of #4 is also good, but I don't know how the longs will translate. I'm worried they'd be too wide at the hem.

I like 2 and 3. To me they are quite different and each could be useful. I actually like the idea of more looseness with #3.

I like 2 and 4, if you can get the length you want. 3 is okay, but not as sleek.

I'm glad others like #2 as well. They were my favorites. That was the look (slim pants but not leggings) I was trying to get with the ponte pants (which were just too calf-sucking).

I like 1 and 2. They seem to give you the slim cigarette pants fit you were looking for.

I would go with 2 if it is the skinny fit you are after, and #3 if you are wanting something in a slouchy fit, and size up.

Ha, I see what Angie sees ! I think #3 is a bit long and when you get the length right they would be perfect. I like that they have some ease over the legs and not skin tight but I guess I am developing quite a poison eye for tight skinnies lately.

#2 and #3. Gap pants are a big washout for me, but these look lovely on you! I love the looser calf in #3, and this is my preferred shape for my very curvy calves (larger than yours by a good measure. I find that I can tuck my pants into boots if I fold the bottoms over before I tuck.

On you, I like the skinnies as well as the real straights, so I'd go with your preference.

Thanks, everyone. I think I am going to go with #2. I do like #3 too but they do look quite similar to the ones I already own, and the pocket issue annoys me. I may revisit later in the winter though.

Question about #2: what do you guys think of the length? It is a teeny bit shorter than I usually prefer but because it is actually fitted to my ankle (such a rare occurrence!) I think it's OK. Unfortunately I forgot to check how much seam allowance there is - in case of shrinkage. There are talls online but it says they are FOUR inches longer, which I think is too much. (Website says the regular is 28" inseam, but really it feels closer to 29 to me, but I did not have a measuring tape so I can't say for sure.) I'll have to try them on at home to see if my shoes work, obviously...

I like the length on 2. But I guess it depends on much "scrunching" you like.
With that said, the I love the true straights. As I have gone up and down in wieght, it is the pant I like to have. Anyway, I size up and have the waist taken in. I also have had the pocket lining cut out and the pocket openings sewed shut, it helps tremendously.

I have these pants and they did shrink in length a bit. I had some fabric to spare so it worked out well, but a cautionary note. They are 95% cotton. I *love* these pants. So comfy but sleek. Good with shoes or booties or boots. I can't tell the diff between the 8 and 10 on you, so go with whatever is better IRL.

I like #2 the best for what you're after - noticeably different from what you have already. I like the length and personally wouldn't mind them a touch shorter if they shrink. The very slim ankles take care of that in my book (as well as your long leg line). I think this length would be good for tucking into boots, too, when the time comes.

I would personally want a bit more length because I like a little scrunch, but they look fine as they are.

Well, I just ordered #2 (had a 35% off code in my email). I hope they don't shrink in length but honestly if they do they will still work just fine with boots, which is how I will probably be wearing them most of the time anyway.
