Something I've been noticing recently is that it seems like the gap between northern and southern hemisphere fashion is closing. Obviously we have opposite seasons in terms of spring/summer vs autumn/winter but only a few years ago it seemed like there was a massive lag (at least the six months if not longer) and yet now I feel like we are starting to see boho elements and flares are creeping into the late summer early autumn collections in some stores. It isn't universal but it feels 'different' to what used to happen.

I think it is partly because our department stores are under presssure to compete with on-line sources and so are bringing in more high end designer items and partly that they are under pressure to compete with the new fast fashion sources like Zara (who are relatively new to Australia). Blogging and instagram are no doubt also having an influence. Stores like our Aussie Target creating lines like their 'Runway to Rack' seems like a clear example of this.

Am i imagining it or is southern hemisphere fashion creeping forward compared to where it used to be?
