full skirt outfit idea - seasonally confused or not?

After reading the blog post this morning I immediately thought of pairing up my linen blend blush turtle/cowl neck banded top with my floaty white skirt.
The colors will certainly say spring, but are the fabrications competing and/or seasonally confused? The top is sort of like a lightweight sweater, but does have linen in the blend. The skirt is an almost gauzy weight cotton with a stretchy fold over waist.

And lastly, would you go with cream flats, shooties, or tall boots with this?

Great colors. I don't think it will read as seasonally confused. I think the flats will work for sure--possibly the shooties too. They look like they have kind of a lacey print. The boots might be too tall.

I like it! I kind of like the contrast of seasonally confused looks actually, although I know a lot of people do not. I was thinking about doing something similar with my full white skirt...

I think the shooties are the most interesting shoe option... I like the taupe color with the outfit. Agree with Kelly that the tall boots would be too tall.

Thanks gals. It is going to hit 60's this week, so I may get to give this a try sooner than later

Is the skirt an eyelet? If so, I vote seasonally confused. Eyelet is strictly a summer fabric to me, alongside seeksucker and some linen.

I actually don't mind seasonally confused because the weather is seasonally confused too! I much prefer the shooties with this though.

I'm not sure Mo. I'd like to see them together. The skirt for sure is Spring, but the turtleneck looks light also. I usually associate t-necks with colder weather though. I think the lightness of it may work. Can we see, please?

I think it'd be cute. I'm horrible at pairing shoes with outfits, so I'm not sure which shoes would go best with it.

Zap the skirt is just straight cotton, with a light underlayer slip that kind of makes it floaty. No texture or eyelet to it.
I will certainly do a pre WIW with it for you all, but I'm off to work in a bit so no time for dress up today.

Will you be too warm in the sweater if the temps get to 60? If not, I say give it a go. I'd wear the shooties with this, and my second choice would be the cream flats.

Linen is 100% Spring and Summer. And you can even purchase linen knitwear which would look great with this skirt! I voted yay.

I have a harder time with linen in Autumn and Winter - unless you live in a place like Singapore where it is hot and humid 24/7.

I think this will be a great transition outfit. The white nods to spring and the thin knit top in a neutral tone will keep you warm but add to that spring feel. Wear the tall boots while the cooler temps permit, then the shooties.

I find it really hard to work booties with that type of skirt. Totally frumpy on me, at least with nude colored legs. YMMV as I've got some decades on you. So while they seem like they would go, and the taupe is great with the blush sweater, and the boots look heavier, the proportions of the boots with the skirt may really work for less chopping up of the legline. Try them both and see.

Cool! and I want to see the tall boots with it too. Actually, I noticed a lot of tall boots and skirts overlapping looks at NYFW shows. Which is awesome for me!

Okay, so I didn't get to try my spring idea last week. I have a chance tonight. Going to a steakhouse for early bird dinner, with dress code casual. 50 degrees, which is great tall boot weather still.
Got out my leather panel skirt as an option as well. The BF doesn't like it (no surprise) but when I asked him to ignore the leather and just treat the color and silhouette as a whole, he choose the linen top to go better with the leather, and the fluffy mohair to go with the airy cotton skirt. I could of course stick with the original pairing of linen top with cotton skirt, but it feels just a tad too springy for today's temps, and an early evening occasion. The mohair is warmer, and conversely, the leather skirt with the linen would be warmer than just the cotton.
Am I making sense? lol

Una, he has irrational dislike of denim skirts/dresses and leather bottoms. I think it's an association with Daytona Bike week honestly lol.
I am thinking the linen/leather reads a bit more steakhouse than the lighter colors of the cuddly mohair/cotton?
But then there is the issue of leather boots paired with leather skirt that might read borderline biker ha ha. Sigh.

I totally would associate leather with steakhouse. The white skirt seems too airy for some reason.
