Ok you know you're officially addicted to ylf when the first thing you want to do when you receive a package containing long-awaited Frye boots is post them here! They arrived less than 15 minutes ago. I'm so happy they arrived today - I've just driven back home after being away for work for 4 days.

I've just worked night shift and had a 2hr drive home, so I'm more than a little disshelvelled. But ignore me - how do you like the boots??

I wish they were at least one inch higher - I still don't have *true* knee high boots yet. But I love them anyway. They are super comfy and the leather feels great. I'm glad I got size 10, any smaller would be too small! They are a rich dark brown, so they feel different enough to my light chestnut slouchy boots that I can happily justify having 2 pairs brown boots.

Edit: one other thing - I think I have solved the mystery of the 30% off that I posted about originally (see earlier link). There was a little card with the boots saying "These boots have been on display in our retail store and have been tried on by customers. They have a few minor scuffs on the soles". Whilst this wouldn't have stopped me from buying the boots at a discount price, I really think they should have posted this info on amazon.com originally. The total cost of postage to Australia isn't insignificant, so I would have been really annoyed had there been enough markings/scuffs from try-ons that I wasn't happy with the product. Luckily I can't even tell they had been tried on already, but still it is the principle of the thing, isn't it!!!

Edit2: (also posted below)

Ok I am still so stoked with these boots I wanted to see if they worked with a dress too. And what better dress to try it on with than the black Esprit shirt-dress I went back for last week.

Do you think dress + boots works or not? Too much knobbly knee or leg on display? Mainly on the left leg there is enough gap to put my hand down the boot. Is that too much gap???

p.s. yes Sparky they are the Frye Melissa Riding Tall boots!! I had been oogling them all year and gradually putting away $50 per pay all year. Finally I had enough, so it didn't even feel like a massive splurge (even though it is!)
