Four work outfits

Hi everyone

I'm sorry I have been so quiet lately. I started a new temp job three weeks ago and hardly have any time to read all the threads, let alone reply. I miss YLF!!-(

Anyway, I thought I'd post a few of my work outfits. As per your request I took the pictures in a different spot, the colours are a little better, but most pics are still very blurry (could there be something wrong with the self-timer function??).

1. Mexx floral cardigan, kelly green cami, Ralph Lauren trouser jeans, red Camper loafers, new long pearl necklace.

2. COH Amber jeans, VS bright blue button-down, Mexx grey blazer with tiny white dots, green Matta scarf, brown wedge slides.

3. New blue-grey dress (I posted pics before with leggings), COH Amber jeans, yellow pendant, grey Fly London pumps.
I'm thinking I urgently need a pair of skinnies or straight-legged jeans for this look?
I'm also having trouble with accessorizing this dress. The small cowl neck collar is proven to be difficult. I've tried different scarves and necklaces but nothing really works.

Angie: do you think I could wear this dress with leggings and slouchy calf-length boots?

4. VS bright blue button-down, Mexx plaid waistcoat, new DKNY grey pencil skirt, white wedge slides.
I am loving this pencil skirt!!

Thanks for looking!

Inge, your looks are fantastic and so flattering. I'd love to take every one of them straight inot my wardrobe! I especially love the coloiur mixing in the first one - polished and interesting.

I think the dress would look great with skinnies, but it is good with those jeans as well. I wear dresses with bootcuts and flats and find it a nicely balanced look that is comfortable and easy to wear. I'm thinking that if you added dark skinnies and some heels you could take this up a notch and make it even more versatile for a variety of situations.

Inge, you are killer! I'm loving everything. Yes, you could wear the dress with leggings and slouch boots. The bootcuts look fine with it but you still need a pair of skinnies/straight legs. ;) And the pencil skirt is my favorite. All I can say about it is !!!!!!

Lovely! My favorite is no.1.

I agree the dress will look even better with skinnies or leggings.

Inge, wow!!! I love them all, I can't even pick a favorite. Beautiful!

Wow so fabulous!! You look amazing! The only look I'm not in love with is the dress over jeans, but that's my personal taste. :p It would probably look better with leggings?

I hope I can learn from your dressing prowess! ^_^

All your outfits look fantastic! I especially love the first one!

Re: Camera Focus: I wonder if you camera isn't sure where to focus - if you are hitting the shutter button to activate the self timer and there isn't anything where you are going to stand for the photo - the camera might not be focusing. No idea if this is indeed the issue, but it is my guess.

Inge, glad to see you posting outfits...they are always so inspiring. I love your outfit with the red shoes :) I really like all your outfits and can't select a favorite, you look so sharp! About accessorizing the dress, have you tried pins/broaches? I find that a chunky bracelet also works well when I can't wear a necklace due to the neckline. Thanks so much for sharing!

You look great.

re:focus, what susan said. make sure to stand behind the camera, half click to focus on the spot where you will be standing, and then click and run to your spot!:)

Wow, Inge, what a great set of pictures! I especially love #2- that green shade of scarf is beautiful! And I am still jealous about your dress. But everything looks amazing, and I can't help but feel awe at your posture.
The dress would absolutely work with slouchy boots. what about a brooch?
Hope work is going well!

I love your style Inge and your home. The first outfit is so beautiful.

Like Dani has said I would pair the cowl dress with a chunky bracelet or bangle. You may be able to wrap your pearls around your wrist for a chunky, layered effect.

Inge, every single outfit is amazing! I think the cowl neck dress with the bootcuts looks great but skinnies or straight-legs would make it very current. Have you tried the pearls from the first outfit with this dress? I like Dani's idea for a pin/brooch too. Do you not wear earrings? Otherwise some funky earrings would be cool too! Have you tried it with a vest? I see why you love the pencil skirt - you look hot in it!

Wow - you know how to do this - very well !Simple and stylish.

Oh, these are fantastic! #1 is my favorite; the patterned sweater is so pretty!

Susan and company already gave you great advice about the focus, but I do have a suggestion for the lighting. I can see such wonderful light coming into the room from the left side of the photo; is it possible to move the tripod so the light is behind it? That would let it then shine on you, and I think that would be the best light in the room.

P.S. I accidentally focus on my arm all the time when I am lining up my second shot, and so my second shot generally comes out blurry. It happens to all of us!

P.P.S. I miss seeing you around the forum!

Woo-hoo Inge! You posted outfit photos! I am so happy, I missed seeing them on the forum!

Every outfit is perfect and I would wear them all myself, I love the colors you are wearing :) You look so regal. I love that pencil skirt too! Please keep posting.

So great to see you post outfits again, Inge!

#1 = KILLER. The pearls just do it for me. Good grief.

#2 = KILLER. You have the best posture on YLF. I have never seen anything like it. Amazing! And I just adore that forest green scarf! My favourite outfit.

#3 = KILLER. (Are you sick of these KILLERS yet?). Fab shoes :0)

#4 = KILLER again. You are so, so, so statuesque!

You score a big fat 10 for the week :0)

Great outfits every time. You are statuesque. I love your nice neat clean classy style.
I would like to see you get some dark wash skinny or straight leg jeans. I think you are built for them.

Love your style, love your color combos, LOVE those pearls...you are killing me:) Love everything:)

You are so elegant, my favorite is the first outfit, you make everything look sop[sophisticated.
Angie is so right about your posture. That pencil skirt is perfection! I also love your space, looks simple and elegant (so you!!!)

Posted 5 months ago

I love everything. I agree with all those praising your posture - that is what I was going to say too.

Posted 5 months ago

KILLERx4! Amazing.

A little late with my comment, but I think you look fantastic! I love the green scarf on outfit 2. Aside from outfits, which are awesome, I also love the space where you took the pictures: so open and light, with sparse modern furniture. It's my dream space.

I really apologize ladies, I completely forgot to respond to my own thread, duh!

Thank you SO much for all the advice and opinions! I'm always walking on clouds after reading all that YLF praise-)

I was a little surprised that so many of you loved the outfit with the floral cardigan and the wide-legged trouser jeans (I know they're not the most trendy option at the moment). But I'm not complaining;-)

I'm already looking for a pair of fab skinnies or straight-legged jeans. I'm excited to see how they will change the feel of some of my outfits.

Susan, Bella and Kristen: thank you for the camera suggestions. I will try this next time. I could do with a photography course, couldn't I...

Dani, Marianne and Julie: thanks for the accessories suggestions. The one thing I haven't tried yet is a pin and a chunky bracelet, on to that asap!
I've also realized that I can ignore the cowl neck if I want to, and just wear a fab scarf over it. Then the focus is not on the collar, but on the rest of the dress. Can work too.

Shana: I did try the pearls with the dress, but something looked a bit off. I do wear earrings, but only small studs and very small hoops, not very noticeable really. A vest is a fab suggestion too.

Angie: I will NEVER get sick of your KILLER rating;-)

Jean and Danja: thank you for the compliment on the living room. It does represent my style and personality (although that wall looks a little bare now, I have some prints that still need to be framed;-)

I'm also very pleased that many of you like the pencil skirt, and I'm always standing a little straighter when I read your compliments about my posture.

Thank you again!!

I'm late and Jean, especially, expressed my thoughts as I viewed your outfits. Elegant came to mind immediately. Thank you for posting your photos.
