A review for those who may be interested:
I thought you might like to hear about Dress Assistant. I
downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and have been playing with it ever since.
I’ve heard a couple of you mention things like Evernote or Stylebook, and I
think Shannon mentioned Homy Fads a while back too. I tried Homy fads and
although it’s great for cataloguing clothes you can’t make ‘looks’ up and
that’s one of the things I really wanted to do.
Dress Assistant cost me $19.95 to download the software and you can get
it for Mac, Windows and iPhone. I think
it’s a great way of curating your closet and once you have photographed
everything you can drag and drop images of clothing items and make up
combinations or ‘looks’.
Every time you upload a photo you have the opportunity of
putting in notes about it and saying what season it is for. When you hover the
mouse over each picture it becomes enlarged at the side so you can see clearly
what it is; then, when you make up combinations you can also make notes and
specify if it is for an upcoming engagement, holiday capsule etc. There is a
little calendar and notes section
It takes a while to photograph everything, but once you have
then it’s no trouble to add when buying new things.
There are categories for every type of clothing imaginable, including jewelry and underwear
and there is scope for really big wardrobes and other family members too. I love
it.
I’ve included a screen shot from mine, but you can see
examples on the website. http://www.dressassistant.com/index_win.html
