Floral Print dress

Our night out got cancelled last night as everyone decided to go to a concert that is on tonight instead. So different outfit is required!
I bought this little foral print dress a few weeks ago from New Look. I was intending on wearing it during the day with flats for casual summer look. Anyway I found a picture of something fairly similar and tried to copy the look. I am hoping it is event appropriate. Indie/rock concert and drinks after. Excuse the bad hair and no make up. Does this outfit work?

I am not sure if the denim jacket works. I have had it since they were last in fashion and it was very fitted at that point. My body shape has changed a bit since then and I feel it looks a bit boxy on me now.

I think it's really pretty! I feel like without the jacket it could use a darker touch up top, to balance the very dark legs and feet. Maybe a dark filmy scarf, darker earrings or oversized beads? Have you tried this with sheer black hose instead of opaque? That might also balance it out, keeping it a little lighter on bottom. But it's very pretty, just the way it is.

When you add the jacket it totally works, it looks great!

You look gorgeous in your new outfit. I love the way you've style the dress. That belt is very interesting. It works so well with the shoes and black hose to add a edge.
I agree the denim jacket is to big now. I also don't care for denim with this outfit. I'd like to see something that is cropped enough to show the belt, and definately more fitted. In my mind I see a black, cropped, fitted, one button, jacket with lapels.

You look better than the inspiration picture! The jacket adds a more casual vibe which is probably what you want for the concert. Have fun.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. Kristine, I had a look but didn't have any darker earrings or beads that would work, I decided to wear my hair down though which added more dark round my neck! San your right jacket is too big now. It is has got good character now, I prefer older looking denim, but maybe I need to give it to someone a little bigger than me. Or maybe I could try shrinking it?! Lee I am unable to view any flicker stuff, the site is blocked where I live, so I apologise for not commenting on any of your stuff, and likewise anyone else who uses it.
We had a great night out. Paolo Nutin was totally fab, great venue and atmosphere too. Thanks again!
