Floral dress PLAY TIME - loads of photos

I really like this floral dress and tried adding different elements to change the look. I'm working on describing my style http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-labelling, so comments on that matter are especially appreciated Do the different outfits lean to different styles or not?

#1 The dress
#2 + apple green scarf (trying some bold colour here)
#3 + chunky grey cardi
#4 + thin, short wool cardi with metal buttons (too ordinary, a bit blah?)
#5 + long mole(?) cashmere cardi
#6 + long cashmere cardi + scarf
#7 + tweed blazer open
#8 + tweed blazer closed
#9 close-up tweed blazer / dress
#10 + vest (was thinking contrasts)
#11 + blue blazer
#12 + blue blazer + scarf
#13 + white/blue stripe scarf (was thinking pattern mix, but don't think this worked out, or?)

Nice matches! I really like 3, 7, and 12. 4 is just a little boring, maybe? The only thing that doesn't work for me is 10, due to the light and airy dress seems dragged down by the thick vest material.

My favorite is 12, with the denim blue blazer and tasseled scarf. Good job. You look nice!

I LOVE #6, #7, #10 and #12! The dress alone gives me a boho vibe --- on its own, might've been 'sweet', but styled as here, I'm seeing 'edgy' and 'eclectic', also 'whimsical'. Does any of these adjectives catch your fancy?

As for the other looks, I think the only two not working as well to my eye are #2 and #13. Maybe you need a bolder or deeper colour to counter the dress' print? I've already loved #3 in your earlier thread, and while I agree that #4 is more straightforward and 'plain' compared to the rest, it is more an issue of not being *your* style perhaps, than of there being anything wrong with the combination per se.

Keep playing! I can see you love the dress and I for one am enjoying the 'one dress, many ways' feature you have going on!

Brilliant idea to try every way you can think of to style this dress! 2 and 12 are my favorites. Also, the first post you did with this dress had a long black cardi -- I liked that one as well. Any denim jackets in your closet? Tissue weight toppers? What happens if you layer under with a light t-neck? Just brainstorming here......

Manidipa - boho was in my mind :- ) I also can embrace "edgy". I'm not sure about eclectic and whimsical, but that's just due to my ignorace

After some pondering, I think that #4 might be too strightforward *to me*, as you say. Nothing wrong with the combi in itself, but I want something more (or different ;-))

Beth Ann - thanks for chiming in in the brainstorming. YES denim jacket would be great! I'll try that later. I'll try some of the other stuff too... so super to get inspirational comments like your

Ooh great play time! I'm also loving 5, 6, 10, and 12, and the idea of adding a cropped denim jacket. Are you headed into fall? These read more like fall than spring to me. I'd suggest to try a taupe, gray, white, cream, or blush topper as well as light boots

Aida - it's soon to be spring time here. I can see how you associate the outfits with fall. Hmm, I have a light gray cardigan I forgot about. I'll try it out. The only light boots I have is a pair of white rubber boots (these are beige, but the colour of my boots are more similar to there than the white ones: http://www.ilsejacobsen.dk/?pi.....1_11_Beige). Oh, yes - and a pair of caramel ancle boots. Though I like how same colour on hose/shoes/boots elongate my legs.

What a clever idea! And what fun combinations! I really like #5, #6, and #10 and #12. The scarf bookends the darker bottom of the dress very nicely. I think it will also look great without tights in warmer weather!

Hmm if the caramel ankle boots are close in color to your skin, or even a couple shades darker/lighter but in the same family, I bet they could act as a neutral and still be leg lengthening when worn without hose. I'd say they're worth a try with this. Or maybe try sheer black hose with your black footwear? That would be less heavy but still create a long leg line of black.

Suz: I look forward to warmer weather, but it just didn't cross my mind to dress lighter. The last snow is raining away these days.
