Fit problem with NAS shoe

Hello all,

I ordered the Angie pick NAS Michael Kors Guilian flat but it doesn't fit me properly. It gaps weirdly and this is a problem I always have with this style of shoe. Any idea what the fit problem might be? These are my usual size and feel fine in the length, but overall feel roomy.

Should I try a smaller size? Thoughts on what's going on?

Maybe the shoe is too narrow and/or the heel is too flat.

I wonder if the heel cups that Angie had in her blog this week would fix this? Have you asked one of the most knowledgable SAs in Nordie's shoe dept? They are amazing for solving problems with shoes and to get a great fit.

It looks to me like the shoe is too narrow. I imagine that If the shoe sides are very soft, they won't contain the foot as well, and the foot can push them out like you see here. But I see that they don't come in a wide.

Or...I wonder if sizing up would fix the problem, because perhaps the gapping is because the shoe is buckling a bit because it's not long enough (?).

I agree that maybe asking one of the SA's (you could even just call the local Nordstrom and speak to one on the phone) would be helpful.

It's a conundrum to me, because my feet aren't wide… but maybe they're shaped strangely with extra "fluff" on the sides. The shoe doesn't feel too narrow at all… it's very roomy actually. I wondered if sizing down would fix the gapping.

Angie, not sure if my feet are low volume… I doubt it. I think I'm in between high/low. Does this look like a low volume problem?

It does. Your feet aren't filling out the shoes which means low instep and arch. I often size down half a size in loafers.

Eta if I recall you've lost some weight lately. I know I move up and down sizes as I gain and lose body weight. Funny isn't it? I suppose it makes sense.

I agree about it being a low volume foot issue. I have high volume feet, and never have this issue. If anything, loafers seem snug along the sides and then look too small or like there is spillage at the sides of the vamp. I hope the smaller size helps!
