Feedback needed on my Miz Mooz ankle boots

My blue Miz Mooz ankle boots arrived and I am not sure they are keepers. I love the fit on the foot, but the ankle is SO wide they look like boats on me. Are they supposed to look like this? I've never had boots like this before so I don't have a frame of reference.

I had hopes of wearing them with dresses and skirts as well as jeans, but I don't think they would look right now. Angie, your thoughts?

Okay thanks for the perspective. I will try them with some other outfits before I decide. I could even wear them outside; the pair they sent are seriously scuffed on the bottom. I'm not the first owner of these!

I like them Kristen, they look great under bootcuts. The color will really be a statement no matter how you wear them. I would wear a more neutral color with dresses and skirts but I think you are more modern classic than me. I cannot picture a kind of dress that you would like with those boots. But- you never know! Would you keep for the sole purpose of wearing with bootcuts?

It's a little too strong of a statement for skirts, IMO. There is cowboy, blue distressed leather, studs, etc. A little too costume, as they might say on Project Runway. But under jeans, they just look like cool colored boots rather than "yippee ki yay!" (to reference Angie's favorite Christmas movie). Cowboy boots are one of the few things I say I will never wear, but I have come to be more accepting of them on others, provided they don't LOOK like cowboy boots!

I also think they're a bit much for skirts and dresses. Definitely under pants though; I really like the vibe and style they have.

They are gorgeous but i see what you mean about the gap. I think they would work best under trousers. I sent a similar pair back because of the large ankle space because i wanted to wear them with skirts too x

I get your point, Kristen. I wear my Billy shorties with dresses, but it helps that they are a neutral color (grey), and I match them up with grey tights for a monochromatic look.
