Someone asked about the black tulle skirt. It's a big fluffy thing, all layers and not as shiny as it looks here. I have yet to wear it, but thought I'd sneak it in while the forum is quiet. Shhhhh....

I put this together in my head a while ago and I rather like it. I kept a couple of these wide elastic belts that were so in a couple of years ago - this one black studs. F21 camo sweater. Thinking I could wear this to a party.

Now, I need to find a guy in a kilt to dance with me!

Two skirts in one weekend? I'm speechless. this is a very versatile piece, actually --- you can style it so many ways, and this way is perfect for you.

I could see it with a jacket, too.

Are you wearing leggings or just tall boots?

I'm actually wearing churidars, which are Indian leggings with a ton of scrunch at the bottom. They are jersey and supercomfy, plus they add some bulk to my calves.

This is a Grace Kelly skirt, and I actually love it. Thinking denim or flannel might work too.

Ohhh, I just figured something out. I am always intrigued by and drawn to the things that you wear, even though they aren't "me". I never could put a finger on it until now. We are exact opposites - our body types are flipped, our coloring are yin and yang (particularly hair color), and I think that we definitely personify Angie's hard edge/soft edge (if I understood that correctly). But where all of this meets in the middle is something that we both do - consciously interject something extremely "other" into what could be a rather strong look. Case in point - this skirt. It's the princess in your UWP. For me, it is often putting something distressed or earthy into soft, feminine outfits (I'm leery of keeping every piece of the outfit too shiny and polished and girly) and it is also my hair - keeping it short and white gives me an edge that I just don't have naturally. Anyway, I just found it interesting - it's like we are so different that we are similar. (We should do a challenge where we each take a similar item and style it with our own twist...)

On a different note - the black sandals have to go back! I tried to wear them today and they were so uncomfortable I couldn't walk in them without pain. So disappointing... But good news - you don't have to wish for them anymore!

I really like this Una. I think I have a soft spot both for elastic belts and for tulle skirts - but what is great is how you have used your style and current fashion to make this a very you and now look.

Una- you could wear that skirt to a party or just put it on as styled here and create a party. I love this all on you.

Love the idea of denim and flannel! Still chuckling at needing to bulk up your calves, although I think it totally works on you! I have mighty calves. Years ago, a co-worker was doing a fashion show of her indian sarees and salwar kameez. I had to wear the "fat" churidars. She clucked and tsked ever time she tried to fit my ankles.

Sarah, funny and excellent points! Natalie and I have also discussed the yin/yang of our styles, yet you and Natalie are not alike. I think we all pick up on each other through osmosis a bit here. Sometimes you are so opposite you are the same, KWIM?

Beth Ann, it's just because so many Indian women have scrawny calves! All of my American friends had fit issues in India - but luckily tailors are everywhere. And when we had clothes made for my wedding, the only way I could get the tailors to believe the size of my DH's 6'6" best man was to use Michael Jordan as an example!

Now that's how you toughen a tulle skirt :). And black tulle is just so perfect for your style persona! Love it! And I love the scrunching caused by the chudidhar! Fun! I have to try this!

You should also try this skirt with your plaid shirt. I am sure it will be fun!

Oooh. I like. I can imagine myself wearing this - I went through a gothy full skirt phase in college and the look still appeals to me. I think the scrunched leggings and boots really add to it.
