Is anyone else starting a wish list for Fall 2014? I have started mine with items I could not find in 2013. How about you?

We just got crushed with winter today in the south, so all I can think about is spring

But I love the idea of your ink leather jacket.

I'm losing weight slowly but steadily, so it's killing me to not be able to buy end of season sale items not knowing what size I might be. This fall, I'll be looking for well fitting, modern blazers and will be keeping an eye on trends for these. I'll also be on the hunt for the perfect winter coat, which I'll want to be more classic.

Yep, as a matter of fact I've already made out my fall/winter shopping lists. My list for fall is mostly footwear at the moment (dressy ankle boots, oxfords, smoking slippers). Your ink blue leather jacket sounds fab. I'm hoping to grab an ink blue handbag for fall/winter myself. I saw a gorgeous ink blue Brahmin at the mall a few weeks ago. A lightweight jacket and a cozy chunky knit are also on my list.

A thigh length fitted well-made black blazer is #1. Also, a car length brown leather coat. Feather-weight spring/summer sweaters. That's my HEWI list. Hoping 2014 is the year!

This is a good idea while our fall outfits are still pretty fresh in mind.
Probably a new warm puffer coat as mine is getting a workout
Calf fitting black boots to wear with skirts.
A sweater dress or other winter dress with sleeves
Navy blue items
A striped cashmere pullover in ivory and navy or black or grey
A winter white skirt.

Ladies,

For those with narrow calves, I just bought the black Setaside boot by Stuart Weitzman at Nordstrom. It is currently 50% off with a 12.75 calf measurement that stretches for larger calves. I'm anxiously waiting for them to arrive...

My main investment next fall will be new basic riding boots. The ones I have now are uncomfortable and not very pretty. A new leather jacket would be great, too.

I was contemplating an oversized, drop-shouldered coat this fall, but I never really found anything. So maybe that. Stuff in pine green. I was hoping there'd be more forest-y colours last fall. Flat cushiony ankle boots for walking the dog...

Stephanie, thank your for the heads up on the SW boots. The Setaside is far too tall for me but might work for others with slim calves. It looks like a beautiful boot.

The Setasides are beautiful. I almost wept that they were too tall for me....

I have not begun a list, but I'm ready to make a start on it:

1. My HEWI: a great suit
2. A new puffer coat and/ or wool coat to give me more coat variety.
3. New winter tuques in a couple of colours, plus mitts/ gloves.
4. New pair of patterned pants or jeans, not super skinny fit.
5. A bag that I like better than my current Tiganello shopper
6. A fun, trendy topper or two (or three).

Thanks for the heads up on the Setasides being too tall. I'll have to see when I try them on. Ideally, they are supposed to be an inch underneath your knee cap? I have a 12.5 inch calf and everything else I've tried is swimming on me...so fingers crossed!

Yes, Stephanie. How tall are you/ how long are your calves? The Setaside is about 2 inches too tall for me at 16.5 height. If a person's calves are wider they can take up some of the slack making the boot, effectively, shorter -- but alas, if your calves are not wide then this effect is lost. Crossing fingers for you!

Wish I had the energy to plan ahead, but based on what is giving me headaches these chilly days (they call them "the she-blackbird days" here in Italy, for some reason I can't fathom) I need tops for skirts. And grey boots, the elusive grey boots that have been on my wish list for at least five years. They are always too tall or too flat!

Slim calves/tall boot seekers: also try La Canadienne styles as Suz will attest. I have a 12.75" calf and found the Passion riding boots (low heel) to work well. They come in black and very dark brown.

Mine was made before the New Year even rung in. Tops on the priority list were:

leather/suede pants (if I keep the Vince's this is checked off early)

black mid heeled booties for my narrow ankles (originally slated for this winter but couldn't find the right ones so they are delayed for fall, which works out if the pants become an early find)

colored wool single breasted pea coat (have this listed all the way in Dec. since I should be back in Tahoe by then, and I won't need or wear it in a FL fall)

pointy toes suede boots or booties with no more than a 2.5 inch heel--i'm afaird the cobler wouldnt be able to repair my old pair again.
white wool pants! would like to wear the white on white look to work, but jeans are not allowed, and the cotton pants i have just scream summer.

I know I have a lot of things unfufilled on my Fall/winter 2013 shopping list, most of which will role over into 2014. Other items I had already planned for 2014 as budget allowed.

I am hoping to find an army jacket and a denim jacket this spring that I can wear indoors all winter.

At NAS I hope to shop whatever knit blazer is good this year (the last 2 years there has been a knit blazer on sale at NAS that was an Angie rec and popular). I'm also hoping to shop some blouses for FW at that time of year.

Then when knitwear really hits the stores (I'm not opposed to dipping into warmer season's versions either) I need to stock up on 3-4 sweaters.

I also plan on purchasing some heatgear type tops to use as underlayers.

I have a feeling a new bag is in store for Fall 2014, and would love a new wool coat as well (the coat would probably have to be a gift).

I'm also hoping to add 2 new pairs of boots (I'd love a pair of tall boots, and then another bootie).

Plus, I have several events where I need some dressier tops-- finding what works for winter will be a challenge.

And like Suz, I would like to grow my hat collection!
