Emerald specs(!!!) - YouLookFab Forum

My favorite pair in the optical shop. Great shape and not dramatically oversized; they are a bright emerald with a kind of ombré fading, and white trim. VERY pricey (some, but not all, would be covered by insurance.) pricey enough that they would have to be a true "10" to purchase. What do you think?

ETA, what I'm looking for:
Statement that won't date quickly
Good, rich color with temple detail
Shape that lifts towards my cheekbones and follows my brow arch
Wide enough for my wide spaced eyes and temples
Distinct enough from my current specs (which I will keep) to justify adding a new pair in rotation (current frames: the bottom pics on http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....es-edition )

I like them. They look like they have white around the inside, is that correct? The shape looks good on you, and they are not too big. I think they are different enough from your current specs.

Yes, there is white around the inside of the inner part of the frame too. It really helps to make a dark frame pop not look to overbearingly gloomy. It doesn't show in the photos very well, but the Emerald is a bit brighter than it looks in the picture where you can see my face.

Yes, Angie-same store! I got my last specs 3 years ago at MO too. They have spoiled me for quality, although they are expensive. Glad this pair passes muster! Will revisit after vacation and confirming how much my insurance will pay, as I think these could be a very worthy addition.

They look great on you, Kari! I really like the shape and size, and the color is beautiful for you. Are your other ones green, too? Even if they are, these are different enough in my book--totally different feel.

These suit you perfectly! And for me at least that is so hard to find.

My other specs are titanium rather than plastic and a greenish bronze, with a very bright green inner color to contrast. Very different shade, though.

Get em Kari. I like them a ton. Don't you wish glasses were affordable enough to have a really good wardrobe of them?

I just got some progressive lenses put in new frames and just the lenses alone were around $400 bucks. I keep my old specs around even though the RXs aren't perfectly up to date. And I do continue to wear the old prescriptions just so I can still have variety in eyewear. The eye docs probably don't want us doing that, but a girl needs a WARDROBE of optical wear, don't you think?
