Duo boots experience?

I just read on someone's blog that Duo boots have free international shipping right now. I've always wanted a pair from them, since I have such a hard time with my large calves. Does anyone have experience with Duo or the custom measurement process?

I have no first-hand knowledge of this process, but I know Angie has raved about the experience her clients have had with calves on all points on the size spectrum. She's gone so far as to issue a recommendation, which to me speaks volumes.

I don't think I knew that - I knew that the gal who writes Wardrobe Oxygen is a fan, but not Angie. Thanks for the heads-up. Now to convince myself that 200 bucks for a pair of boots is an investment, not wastefulness...

I have a pair of Duo boots which I bought about 8 or 9 years ago - still going strong (I'm in the UK, by the way). I found them to be very helpful with regard to working out sizing.

I do think they are expensive, but I've certainly had value for money for mine, if you consider the cost per wear!

I bought a pair two years ago, and I do love them, BUT I also got charged an additional $80 or so dollars in customs, on top of the boots and the shipping, which certainly made me cringe! From what I could tell online, not everyone gets the customs charge, but it's never a happy surprise if you do.

Have you seen http://www.widewidths.com/? If you could find something in America (pardon my assumption if you're not American!) you like, I'd really recommend that.

Jay, thanks for the pointer - I am in the US so that's helpful. Getting dinged by customs appears to be random hit-or-miss, from what I've heard of people's tales. I'd just love to buy some boots that are well-made, last for a long time, and that will fit me. That's not too much to ask, is it? (ha!)

I have a pair I bought in the winter sale after Christmas. I love them but do beware and take each boot style on its own merits - read reviews and email questions; they're very helpful. Some boots seem to be high quality, others have issues that turn up in reviews. I wish I had asked them about the shoe sizing as I bought a 39 that feels like a 40 - at least! (I've fixed it with an insole, but will ask more questions in future!)

I actually have average sized calves but there's nothing like wearing boots that hug your calf perfectly, which is why I will shop at Duo again!

Also they arrived in a couple of days... to Australia.
