Yesterday, we spent the day at the amusement park for dd's birthday. I considered my outfit for this trip very carefully, and I'm so glad that I did. We were at the park all day- from 10 am to 8 pm, and dinner afterwards. The temps ranged from 60 degrees to 80 degrees, so that was my first concern. I chose my Converse, bootcut jeans, and loose a tunic top. I was going to add a belt, but decided at the last minute to leave it off and I am glad that I did. It might have been uncomfortable in some of the restraints, and would have been something that needed adjustment after every ride. That gave me enough coverage for the cooler parts of the day, but kept me cool in the warmer parts. A light layering piece would have been a no brainer, but that would be one more thing to carry around. We were going to be riding roller coasters, so I had to consider not just my clothing, but accessories carefully. I chose a cross body purse to have my hands free during our walking around time, and I opted for some bangle bracelets. Necklaces run the risk of slipping off on roller coasters or hitting you in the face, and I also chose to leave my glasses off for the same reason. I can see well enough without them for one day. I was considering a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes, but I left that in the car and was so glad that I did. It would have gotten crushed taking it off and on for every ride. There are so many issues that go into days full of physical activities, but careful planning can make it a whole lot easier. I felt like I looked good, and I felt comfortable. Several times throughout the day I thought about how glad I was that I had put the consideration into the outfit that I was wearing.
What are your activity/outfit challenges and how do you meet them?
