Hi Fabbers!

I'm planning what to wear Saturday to an afternoon wedding. The ceremony is at our local Catholic Church then a reception at a golf club.

This dress is a few years old from BR and I've added a gray stone statement necklace to jazz it up with a gold bangle and a new silver bracelet with little gold accents and crystals on the ends. I bought the gray clutch for this event (but thought it would be great for everyday with the colors in my wardrobe) but then remembered I had this snakeskin clutch with black, cream, gray and pinkish tones and now I'm thinking this looks better. I know the pumps aren't exciting but with my bad feet I have few options. I do have a pair of Sam Edelman black suede booties but feel that might be too casual.

Also, I have a 3/4 sleeve cardi to throw on if it's cool, or this blazer...what do you think?

Appreciate any and all suggestions for improvement.

Oh, nice! I love the snakeskin clutch with it, and I think I prefer the blazer over the cardigan. The necklace and clutch are especially fab accompaniments to the dress!

You know, I don't think booties would be too casual, as long as they are relatively streamlined and have a little heel. The shoes look good and are safe, but if you really want to wear booties (which I think would look more unexpected), you could.

The dress looks great on you and is perfect for an afternoon wedding. I prefer the snakeskin clutch and the cardigan. The blazer is dressier but also a little more corporate. It's a tough call though as they both look great.

I agree with Sara L. The dress is great. I like the snake clutch best and slightly prefer the cardigan as dressier than the blazer, but both look fine.

I like the snakeskin clutch and the cardigan best. Shoes look fine to me! Can you change the hose to something a little sheerer or with a bit of shimmer? Might make the outfit a teeny bit dressier...

Well I shouldn't go against Angie, but I prefer the cardigan because it lets more of the dress show. Your shoes look fine, and I love the snakeskin clutch and jewelry. What a terrific dress! It could take you literally anywhere. It really highlights that great figure of yours.

Thanks everyone....I guess either topper will work the votes are split, but our queen Angie votes blazer, so I'm leaning that way. I will probably take the jacket off for dinner and dancing, woohoo!

As for lighter stockings, I have nude micro fishnets, is that the way to go? The shoe stocking thing always stumps me...just don't get dressed up that often:(

I love the outfit. The snakeskin clutch is fab.
I think the blazer is great, too. I'm on the fence on the cardi because I do think it can go either more delicate and dress-like than blazer, or just be not as sharp--so sometimes that comes across better IRL and in motion and not photo. What I'm saying is, if you only had the cardi and needed a wrap, I think it'd be fine, but the blazer looks a little more intentional.

Unfrumped, you make a really good point about the blazer vs cardi. I don't want to look like I just threw the cardi on as an after thought and maybe the casualness of it gives that vibe.

Claire, thanks for your lovely compliment:) that makes me feel so good as this dress is a little tighter this year than last:( but you are right, it's a really versatile piece and I think I could dress it down with boots and a moto jacket of sorts, too.

Carole, you look absolutely killer sensational with this. I think we're all agreed that the snake clutch is best. I am divided on the cardi-blazer question and like both with a slight preference for the blazer -- but I would also consider the actual temperatures and how it will feel to carry one or the other around.

And you are so right to consider the weather...it has been so unseasonable warm around here but alas the rain is returning Saturday, but won't be a steady downpour, so I will have to wait and see. If it's raining I would likely wear a raincoat so then the cardi would work better, or maybe I won't even need it. But if it's fairly warm and dry, the blazer would be better..I'm glad to know that either would work!
