dress and skirt outfits. Need critique

Here is the skirt and the dress outfits that I put together. As you can see I don't know how to tie these wrap tops. The GREEN wrap top has alot of fabric to it and the sleeves are so long. I left one side with the arm down and the sleeves draped. The sales girl said that's how it's supposed to be. Please critique. None of these are really my best colors. Lastly, I included my sweater dress which is very wrinkled cuz I had it in a heap and decided last minute to photo it. I hope the photos work. The outfit of the skirt with the pattern and the grey wrap looks cute! Though it needs a punch of color! Maybe try a sweater in a pop color instead? Or maybe all it needs is accessories.

I like the wrap tops on you, although that sales girl has got to be kidding about how to wear the sleeves on the green one. I like them better than the black cardi in that they show off your shape. Maybe a string of gumball beads in one of your best colors at the neckline would give the outfits a finishing touch.

I really can't see how long the skirt and dress are, but I suspect they may be hitting more at the calf than your knee area. Are they the best length for you?

I like the tops with the skirt and dress. This gives me ideas for my dress which is just like yours. In fact I have a top that ties at the waist too. Yay, you look good and appropriate for the occasion.

I commented based on the numbers of each of the pictures:

065: I wrap tops really work for your shape. I like the gray one in this picture and you have tied it correctly. The only thing is that it maybe a bit big? Are you able to find out how one size down fits you?

048: I like the cardi with the skirt and I think a pop of color would be nice. Maybe a skinny red belt or maybe even a red shirt under the cardi.

032: I like the shape of the green top, but the sleeves are really long. I don't think the sales girl is correct about how they are supposed to be worn.

005: From the picture, I can't really see any wrinkles in the sweater dress. I think it looks good.

Also, like Joy mentioned, how long is the dress and skirt? I think they would look great at a knee length. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing more of your outfits!

I love the wrap tops with the dress and skirt! The cardi, not so much. I think it's a bit short and I think the dress and skirt need some colour.

The grey wrap top is fabulous! It suits you VERY well.
Your skirts, however, seem too long. A shorter length around the knee would be much more flattering. You might want to search for "skirt length" on this site, and several threads will come up about finding your perfect skirt length.

I think Dee might be away right now, but I'l pop in for her and say that she knows about the skirt length and is planning to shorten them after the meditation retreat she's wearing the dresses to. The longer length will be practical there because she'll be sitting cross-legged.

Hi Everyone, I just got back and didn't get all your messages before I went but everything worked out fine. I was glad that I had the longer length for this occassion.

I learned alot from posting the photos and getting comments. Especially that I was in a little bit of a rut as far as chosing and wearing neutrals so that I didn't have to deal with color combinations since I have not learned how to mix colors.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you and getting more into color and accessories and HAVING MORE FUN with my wardrobe.

I went to Nordy's on Friday before I left and bought the green tie top to go with the dress and ended up buying 7 BP camis in various colors so that I'll be able to layer with them. Love them, and the length is nice and long

Today I'm wearing a grey scoop neck 3/4 lengh sleeve top with a red/pink cami underneath and love the combo with black pants :), Thanks for your inspiration!
