Hello Ladies!

I'm back from our vacation. You were all absolutely right to advise me to take my white pants with me! I took both pairs, the NYDJ ankle pant and the wide leg linen viscose. They were fabulous for the warm days we spent in the (non air conditioned) Jeep--and there were a number of long driving days! (We went more than three thousand kilometers in 14 days). I saved the linen/viscose for Kelowna--thank heavens I did! 39 degrees celcius that day. Too hot for me--and the pants were perfect. (Dark coloured bottoms are unbearable if you happen to be on the sunny side of the car on a hot day!)

So, my Mom presented me with this top (and a matching air of shorts) just before we left. I packed it--but didn't wear it as the armholes are a bit small. I would have to get Mom to recut and resew if I wore it--so I was wondering what you all thought of it. I LOVE the shape--it's THE BIG PLAID I'm worried about. Does it look OK on me scale-wise? Also, because I have no clue--is it current?

Sorry it is wrinkled and I am unstyled. Today is simply an unpacking and laundry day.

I like the scale of the plaid on you - I think it looks nice and breezy and perfect for our temps now; although it's terribly hazy out today and I am hiding in my little troll hole.

Thanks Lyn! It is ironic that I have come home from a camping vacation and hung all of our washing out on the line--and when I bring it in tonight, it will all smell like woodsmoke--just like it did before I washed it. It is so hazy, the sun shine on my counter looks like spilled rose wine.

FYI: There are more than 150 forest fires currently raging to the North of where Lyn and I live and several to the West.

Welcome back! Sounds like an interesting vacation. Your mom did well selecting a stylish top whch looks very attractive on you. You might also try it with black bottoms.

Ceit--the wedding was amazing, thanks for asking! The ceremony was outside at the winery on a hill with grapevines descending into the valley with a stunning view of Lake Okanagen--and it was brutally hot and in the sun....but once we went inside for the reception, the party started to happen. The bride and groom planned a number of great games and ice breakers and nothing was too formal or fussy. It was truly a fabulous party. Later, I danced most of the night, too.

ETA: Thanks everyone for your input. I just talked to Mom and she says it will be easy to cut the armholes a little larger, whew. I plan on wearing it with dark bottoms, no fear.
