Does this dress work?

So I went to INC, intending to check out the infamous INC clamdiggers. No luck there, but somehow I walked out with this dress:

A few questions:
- Does the cut of the dress work? On the hanger it was pretty shapeless. It disguises my middle area, which is good, but I don't want to look too blocky.
- Is the dress too short to wear without leggings?
- Is the pattern too crazy? I'm not that use to such large-scale patterns in my clothes, so at am a loss here. But the dress is so comfy and easy to put on, I couldn't resist!

I love it with leggings!
It would be too short for me personally without the leggings unless I was by the pool. The print is really bold, but you pull it off.

The frock looks great on its own because you have gorgeous legs. But you need to do the sit down test to be sure. See how far the frock rides up when you sit.

Wow, I LOVE it on you! I actually prefer it without the leggings - you look very diva and lifestyles of the rich & famous in it! And the long strand of pearls is such a great addition. It is a totally hot date night outfit! I think it looks O.K. dressed down with the leggings too. Fab find!

The dress is so beautiful on you. Have you also tried it with skinny jeans and clam diggers like Angie did in her pics? I think you can wear this dress in so many ways like Angie showed us with her dress. Nothing wrong with having a dress that can fill so many gaps in the wardrobe. Great find.

Great dress. The pattern works because there is a long center line despite the boldness of the pattern. I truly prefer it without the leggings. The leggings frump it up when it's so retro and chic worn without them.

The dress looks great! I like it best without the leggings.

I second LisaP's suggestion to try it with white. Skinny jeans or leggings. I might also try this with grey leggings, or some shade of deep purple that pulls out the purples in the dress.

Cathy, did you look for the INC clams in the petites section? Thats where I've always found them. I went to the mall tonight to finally buy them and they were marked down 40% to $35.
