Does this coat fit? Do you like it?

Sorry for all the coat posts. I am having a difficult time finding the right coat or knowing what the right coat is, & as the season progresses I'm afraid there will be less choices.

I have tried the coat on with a t-shirt, cashmere sweater & blazer in the pics with the collar up. In the other pics I have just the sweater. Do you think the shoulders are too big in those? There are 3 different collar styles.

The first 4 pics are with all the layers.
The rest of the pics are without the blazer & collar worn 2 different ways & coat undone. Thanks for looking!

It's a gorgeous coat. Very different in mood than the J. Crew coats. Those have a classic, preppy or slightly mod feel (depending how they are styled, which colour, etc.) This one feels trendy and romantic.

I think the fit is good, and I personally like it. I am not sure I would want it as my main or only coat. but a lot depends on your personal style goals, I suspect. Also, did you try it with skirts and dresses? If you are planning to wear your coat with both, you might want to do that to get the full effect.

I love the military vibe, and I love that the collar can be worn up or down. I think it looks good, but if it is your only coat, will you get tired of it?

I really, really like it. Love the touch of military styling, the way the collar looks up and down, and the curved hemline. Looks like a nice fit, too. Go for it!

I love this coat. How do you define your style? This is definitely something I would wear, with a military, arty, romantic, or steampunk vibe. Not really classic or preppy.

Based on the style preferences listed in your profile I would say this coat is very "you"!
Now if for some reason you were looking for a classic, preppy, ladylike coat (perahps because of a corporate job) this would not be your best choice.

Yes! Yes! My only concern would be that the high hem at the front would make it less warm on very cold days, which might not be a concern in your climate, or if you have a thicker coat for very cold days.

It's a wonderful coat. You're making me wish I needed one... LOL!

Thanks everyone. I don't see myself as classic or preppy but tried J Crew because of the quality & thinsulate & length etc. I also thought it would be good for dresses in cold places on special occasions. I mostly avoid dresses in cold places but probably because I never had the right coat. I may keep this cos I love it & still get a longer warmer one as well as a knee length down or maybe just knee length down. This might be impractical if I am trying to minimize but I love it & I think it might be ok for LA. I will give some more thought & your input helps.

Now that right there is a capital-C Coat. My jaw dropped when I opened the pics--it's that stunning. Definitely, definitely keep. (And tell me where you got it so I can stalk the brand next year?)

The smaller size fit better but with layers I think I need this & none of you seem to think it looks too big. The shoulder seam is slightly off my shoulders I think but I need this sz for the bust.

I love a military coat! This is fabulous! I am assuming the coat feels fine when you wear it and you are able to wear it with another warm layer underneath. Having addressed that the fit looks great. I love the buttons and the cut of the hem in the front. You cannot go wrong if you choose this coat. (I hope you do!)
