Do these work as BF jeans?

The Canyon River Blues jeans I ordered were too big but getting a refund of only $9 on the purchase because of Fifty Ones crazy shipping/return prices, didn't warrant me sending them back.

So I thought I'd try and do something with them. They were at least 8 inches too long so I hacked off a bunch of fabric and rolled them up to be BF style. I though the bagginess and dropped crotch could make them work.

So do these work as BF jeans? Good enough to wear out or should I just keep them as "house jeans"? My apologies for my scruffy appearance - in between loads of laundry, I'm working in the garden.

I thought about that Ceit but I've already done that to one other pair of jeans I found at the Thrift Store. They are Denver Hayes BF jeans but they had a horrendous oil stain just below the knee so I hacked them into shorts and they are fab.

Do I need two pairs???

I'm not really sure what to look for. Should they be more tapered to look like boyfriends? I think they look quite good on you as is.

Shannon, you are beyond cute! I actually kind of like these like this! I can see making them shorts or clams, too, if you have a need, but if not...yeah..I'd wear 'em.

Yes, you need two pairs. It was warmer today than last Sunday so summer is just around the corner. When the temps start hitting the normal 30s, two pairs of loose shorts in a nice dark denim will come in handy.

I don't like pants to be too loose but I deliberately buy shorts sizes too big to get them super baggy. It seems to go with summer heat.

Can you taper them a little at the bottom? I think the wide cuffs are what is giving the "too big" vs. "BF" vibe.

I think they are cute! Not a BF jeans expert though so I'm not going to comment on further changes. Maybe they could be more perfect, but I'm okay with them now!

I like them, I think they look edgy! The baggy, cropped silhouette is bold. However I think to balance them they need high heels, not just mid-heels. Or, wear them with mid heels and a lower contrast belt and top.

They look really cute to me, I especially think your rear view is fun and flattering. But I am monogamous, so I don't know as much about BFs as some of you girls who are more *experienced* .

Shannon, I am not feeling those at all. They are not up to your standards. They look too large in the legs, and not "cool" and relaxed. No, no no. Get out of them as soon as possible. I am so sorry. I am just honest. Now let me go hide!

Wow...we certainly have a mixed bag of opinions here. Now I'm even MORE confused - lol!

Options are:

Pass, they are too big
Turn into BF shorts
Taper the legs more
Leave as is

I think they are perfect as boyfriend jeans - they look like you have effortlessly thrown them on, and I think they look fab!! Love the shirt too! My "every day" clothes look like this, not my gardening/washing/housework clothes!!!

I love the hue of these jeans or the "wash" on you.

I don't mind the silhouette for casual. If you don't wear 'em then chop them? I too am anxious to hear more from Angie on this. I have a similar pair that I wear for watching DS swim meets but I was always thinking I should probably keep them for "house jeans"

Shannon, as you know I am not a lover of BF jeans but I really don't see anything wrong with these. They have the oversized look and they are a nice wash. If you don't think they are up to 'going out' jeans they woul certainly be great for running around and weekend wear.

Shannon, I like them although I'd probably chop off a little length and wear them a bit shorter. However, I wonder if you'd wear them as is, because I remember all the trials and travails you had with your previous BFs. What makes you think this one is any different?

How annoying that you are forced to keep!
They must have been cut for the land of the giants if you had to lop-off 8 inches!!
I too would taper or shorten and keep as a spare pair of shorts.

These are perfect candidates for alterations. Have the legs tapered by a professional seamstress who knows what she's doing. Fitted to your body, these might look terrific.

haven't read all the responses... can you alter them? Honestly, they're not speaking to me as they are. This is the first time that I've ever noticed something making you look short... so I think the fit, combined with the rolled legs, don't flatter you.

Just chiming in with my two cents - I would either taper them at the ankles, roll them higher for clams, or chop them into BF shorts.

Like Suz, I think you look CUTE and huggable in these jeans. Fashionable too. You could hack off a little more to create a neater roll. And tapering is an option too. But not a must.

Oh my Angie - I didn't even think of that! Wearing shoes would make these look different wouldn't it? I think I'm going to hack off about another 1 - 1.5 inches to make the roll neater and slightly higher and then pop on my pointy toe kitten heel pumps and wear them. I love the baggy/saggy fit and they are super comfy.

Diana - I have no idea why these BF styles feel right to me. I guess both my eye and my body have adjusted.
