Love them! I'm usually all for red shoes, but I do prefer the navy in these. I bet they are super comfortable.

Interestingly the navy seems a bit wide, as in, I'd need an insole. No big deal; just that I have a wide-ish foot so that never happens to me.

Both colors have promise. I bet the navy would be a workhorse in your closet and the red would work really well as an accent with your neutrals. I have a slight preference for the navy -- looks sophisticated and helps lengthen legs with dark jeans, while still having the cool Doc sole.

My personal preference is for oxfords with no socks showing, and a rolled or cropped jean that shows a slice of bare ankle. Since if I remember correctly I think you like to wear socks a lot and full length or scrunched at the bottom jeans, like these, I prefer the more bootie shaped shoes on you.

I was all set to be a big red booster, but shockingly I like the navy best. Super fab.

ETA: and definitely bootie over Oxford.

With your current outfit, the navy looks best. It looks perfect. From what I've seen of the rest of your wardrobe, the navy pair will be a real workhorse. The red might be trickier. But... I'm a big advocate of funky coloured shoes to add a little jolt of something new, and I have a pair of darker oxblood-red chukka style booties that I wear all the time, so it's a tough call.

But no Oxford shoe no matter which color, right? I'm still not decided on color. Blue would def be leg-lengthening and "go" with overall wardrobe.

Thanks for the detailed analysis, rabbit. Also I don't prefer the look of socks. I just try to avoid blisters by wearing them. Though ultimately the reason doesn't matter, right?

Went home empty-handed for now. They will hold--with Marathon craziness not sure when I'll be able to get back there!

Oh, heh, thanks for the reminder about the marathon. Had been thinking about going to the Warby Parker showroom on newbury to try on specs this weekend, but I think I'll wait a week!

I wear socks with my oxfords too, don't like the feel of bare feet in shoes unless they are are sandals. I just wear no-show ones -- converse socks sometimes work and I have some other lower cut thin cotton or wool socks too.
