I love my black/white/grey plaid shirt. But I saw this post by Man Repeller

I love the drapey oversized fit of the Equipment shirt. My existing shirt is just standard cotton.

I'm into plaid shirts, but I kind of need them to feel soft and cozy so I ordered a basic flannel plaid (ll bean because the j crew one went out of stock before I could order). The Equipment one is lovely and probably more your style, but I just don't know about a $248 plaid shirt.

Anna, I've had that shirt in my wishlist for two months, waiting to see if the price ever drops. I tried it on and I'm a size S in the Brett style, just FYI. It's really gorgeous and classy, doesn't look like flannel plaid but more like the elegant silk that it is. If only it weren't $250!

so . . . is SYC not a priority in this line of questioning? I'm tempted to say stick with what you have unless the priority has shifted.

I just need to reiterate that I love everything about that shirt. Somebody must have it! (although you do confuse me with intermittent SYC talk, but in this case I would say SYC be damned unless the moeny really isnt there, because I have never seen anything like the color, pattern, fabric, fit shown here)

$250 is not unreasonable for a silk shirt IF you wear it a lot. Going with the Item-Outfit-Capsule test from the wise Angie:

Item -- passes this test with Lear-jet flying colors
Outfit -- Now, your turn -- how many outfits can you come up with wearing this shirt?
Capsule -- Which capsule does this fall in? And does it fall in more than one capsule? Because it's silk it *could* be dressed up for the opera but because it's silk it wouldn't make sense for hiking.
