Do Fidjis suit my style?

1. After seeing Sveta's post, the first pair of Fidjis she linked to caught my eye. I've been trying to add some comfortable, casual shoes to my closet but I'm not sure these suit me - what do you think?

2. I picked up these BP Caden oxfords because I thought they'd be fun to pair with my new Halogen leather jacket. Do they pass muster?

Yes, absolutely. I think Fidjs are like Fluevog's cute little sister - funky but more mainstream. And love the Cadens - you've got me drooling over them in red suede!

Do you love them? Then they're your style. Personally, I prefer the oxfords but take that with a grain of salt as I have not one pair of Fidgi's or Fluevogs.

(And is it pronounced Fidgi like Fiji or Fidgi like fidget?)

ETA: how are the fit and quality of the Cadens? How much did you have to size up? And are they as uncomfortable as some of the reviews state? They look really nice on you.

I like both Christy. I know #1 is casual biput to me these shoes are crying out to be worn with a dress?!

Suz, thanks! They are very different for me. I'd like to "edge" up my style a bit and do something outside of my comfort zone and these are certainly that!

Denise, I love these oxfords and the Fidgis would only be in addition to, not an either/or. As to comfort, I was really surprised to see the negative reviews online. The leather has a lot of give and I think will be comfortable. The only thing that has given me pause about wearing them outside yet is that they do hit *just* below my ankle bone and I can't decide if they are going to rub or not. I've been wearing them around the house and I think they'll be okay. ETA: didn't answer your question about sizing...I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 - I bought these in a 7. So I'd say if you're between sizes, go with the bigger size.

Deborah, do you think they'll work with pants/shorts also? Because these will be primarily weekend shoes and I rarely wear skirts/dresses on the weekends.

I really like these on you, Christy. They may be a little bit of a departure for you style-wise, but that's a good thing. I know you've been trying to stretch your fashion boundaries a little (with your colored jackets), so consider this just another step in the journey.

Both pair are super cute. I really love them both, but especially the first pair. So unique and fun!

I LOVE Fidji ! Wish they loved me back Those are great shoes and should work really well with pants/shorts too! The leather gets even softer with time

I am always reluctant to comment on shoe question because I am incredibly picky when it comes to shoes. But I must say, I like those oxfords.

I really like the oxfords, and as you styled them.

I'm a big Fidji fan myself and have a few pair (just got another pair, also thanks to Svetas post ;-). Their comfort is pretty awesome! I can stand and teach in them, and then run errands in them, all comfortably. Sometimes they look a little 'sweet' and I try not to pair them with anything else 'sweet' -- I like to think of myself as 'tough'

I like your Fidjis and think you'll love and enjoy wearing them too.

I really love both pairs of shoes for you, Christy. And I absolutely think these Fidjis work equally well with skirts/dresses and pants/shorts.

Christy I do think the shoes will work with pants,but more cropped amd rolled versions as it would be a shame to hide the fab feature of the laces withalonger pant. Itmustjustbeme,but they read quitedressyto me.?

Christy, I love those Fidji on you. They are funky and have an attitude, don't you think? I think they work with dresses and pants and jeans equally well.
How funny that you and Sara already got Fidjis due to my post but I still did not pull the trigger on them... I guess I have an excuse of having problems signing into my Amazon account now...I hope tomorrow will be the day!
