I've just been organising my photo's, and came across some old outfits and other try-ons that I'm not sure about... and naturally, would really appreciate your comments.

1 - this is my favourite skirt, but I usually wear it with a plain black top - either a tank top in summer, or a l/s in winter, and in winter with black tights underneath. I love this skirt because its so bright, and girly, and it has tulle underneat to help it keep its shape. But, I tried it on with this blue top and I don't know if the colours work or not. I havne't really found any other top that I like with this skirt so am at a bit of a loss as to what other colours to try...

2 - My old navy suit. I bought this years ago and its my funeral suit But not sure if I should keep it or not. It fits me very well, despite it being old, and the pants being pleated at the waist and tapered at the legs LOL. Its a very light weight crepey type fabric and not lined. Its really only hemmed for flats though now I know about PPL - I could let it out a bit, but it would still only suit low heels. It just doesn't strike me as remotely stylish.

And finally

3 - just a strange combo I threw on one day - dress, leggings and denim vest. I don't know if this works - the vest seems to match the blues in the dress, and the leggings the base colour, but I'm not sure if the vest and leggings look quite right.

I think the blue shirt with the skirt works suprisingly.

I like the dress, vest and leggings! great transitional outfit as your weather starts to cool down.

I also like the dress/vest/leggings a lot.

The skirt and blue top look okay together (I'm always tentative about mixing colors). If you can, try it with a cheeky denim jacket over the top. You could also get away with colorful tank top under the denim (here is where I would repeat one of the colors from the skirt because I am tentative about mixing colors). You could also try the legging under the skirt, but then one of the color experts needs to advise on what top color would bring balance. . .

The suit should be retired (or buried ^^)

you know, any more I don't think we so much have to match colors as make sure they coordinate. I'm no color expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I think the skirt and blue top work because the colors are close in saturation. a baby blue or other pastel wouldn't work here. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have thought that combo would work, but it seems to.

Love the blue. Perfect. I was thinking you could try to match the colors in the skirt, but actually I really like the blue. I think you could also do white.

The suite is a NO. sorry.

The third outfit is SO cute! My only comment is that it might also be fun with a colored legging, like maybe green?

Dress + vest + leggings = totally works.

Funeral suit: as a suit, I don't think so, but the top by itself might have possibilities.

Skirt: I'm not so great with knowing what colors go well together, but this combo looks fine to me.

1. LOVE the skirt! Besides black and white (is it?), I think it would look cute with a pink or orange top, jacket, or cardigan.

2. I think the main issue I have with it is the length of the jacket. It's really long and hits at a weird point.

3. I think a denim jacket would look better. The dress seems to show some cleavage, so I think covered arms would balance it out. I'm still trying to figure out the whole legging thing myself, so I can't even comment on that part of the outfit.

1. Blue top + flower skirt. I love that skirt -- so fun! The blue does work with it, probably for the reasons Kim mentioned. Yellow could be another option.

2. I agree with NK; the jacket hits at an awkward point. The slacks also look a bit large.

3. I like the whole combo; very cute. You can also try a trendy denim-with-denim look by substituting denim leggings.

1) I like the skirt. I would pair it with green or yellow.

2) Pass on! You are too pretty to be buried under this dated suit.

3) This outfit works for me. I think you have a good idea of your style right now. To me this outfit is very Theresa!

I'll try on a few other coloured tops with that floral skirt to show you - will do that tomorrow or tonight! But I quite like the blue too - it almost looks like the sky over the garden...

Suit - ok, I shall ditch it! I do have some lovely black dresses that can be dressed up or down so I might use those as funeral outfits (fingers crossed I don't go to any for a loooong time though).

#3 - jeggings under could look quite cute couldn't they - maybe skinny jeans?! The dress is actually a tie-halter neck and quite revealing, so I think a denim jacket would be great too when it cools a little more. And coloured leggings - might just have to give that a try. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Bella - thank you for your comment on my style right now - do you have a word or phrase to describe it? (I'm very anal, and like to have definitions and labels, and would love a word or phrase to have in my mind LOL)

You are adorable and I love outfits one and three, as others have mentioned. I think there is a Goodwill somewhere that would love that black suit!
I think you have a flirty, funky and somewhat romantic style (with all those great florals). But I'm no expert.

Tam would you believe I bought that suit in 1999!!! I lived in a very little rural town, so we were probably a good 10-20 years behind the rest of Australia LOL

Just chiming in to repeat what everyone else has said. The suit does nothing for you, and if you've already got a plain black dress that fits well it'd be appropriate for funeral wear.

1999? Seriously? hehehe I had a similar looking outfit I bought when I started my first full-time job in 1994 at the grand old age of 18. I can't remember when I gave it away but I'm glad I did, it made me feel like a grandma wearing it!!!!
