DIY glitter shoes... I did it!

The pictures just don't do these shoes justice, but I'm going to post a ton of them anyway! I'm so proud of my pretty purple pumps

These were super easy to do, and they were quite cost effective since I used a clearance pair of shoes from Ross! I may start covering everything in glitter soon

Thanks lyn! There are a boatload of DIY glitter shoe tutorials online, but I used this one, sans mimosa:

Basically, equal parts extra fine glitter to Modge Podge. I used about 3 tablespoons of glitter (3 different colors) and got 4 coats out of it. Try it! It's fun, easy and not as messy as you'd think!

That's such a cute tutorial! Thanks! I like the choice of one type of colour like you did (purple) vs. multicolours for hers. I may try this sometime!

Totally gorgeous! They look professional. Love how you used 3 colors to add the depth. You glitter also looks more fine than the glitter pictured in the tutorial. What was the surface area of the original shoes? Would love to see the shoes on you!

Ah, I like this tutorial! Must find cheap shoes to glitter up! You did a great job - yours look cooler than hers, IMO. The one-color glitter really pops.

awesome..... I love that you can make them any color you want. I have these I bought at Kohl's and love them. Glitter pumps are sooo much fun.

gorgeous! I'm assuming your shoes were purple to start with? Did you use regular cheap kid glitter or the expensive stuff?

Thanks to all for the kind words! I'm going to wear them to work tomorrow, so I should be able to get a pic then. Let's see what everyone at the gym has to say about purple, glittery high heels They already think I'm crazy for wearing any high heel at all.

Eva: They were patent leather, I just roughed them up with some 100 grit sandpaper beforehand.

QM: The shoes were black actually. I just used a LOT of glitter, lol! I used the Martha Stewart brand they sell at Michael's, because I liked the selection of colors the best. They also offer a pretty good variety of types (Fine, extra fine, a fine sort of confetti cut) Specifically, I used the extra fine in a shade of purple, a silver and a gunmetal.

So, anyone want me to whip up a pair of glitter shoes for them?
