Did I try the same ponte pants as everyone else?

I went to the mall today. Didn't really buy anything except some socks, but I wanted to try on the Macy's INC ponte pants that everyone has been raving about.

I absolutely HATED how they looked!

They were SO tight and clingy even my relatively normal thighs looked like chicken drumsticks in them. They basically looked like leggings that just happened to have pockets sewn on the back and a zip fly, or skin tight sweatpants.

For those of you who have tried them, did they fit you similarly? I'm thinking of crossing ponte pants off my wish list now. I was expecting them to basically look like legitimate woven pants, but that wasn't the case at all.

Did you try the petite or regular ones? Which color? If they are the style I am thinking of (black jeans style, with pockets on the back and sewn-on pocket detail on front, with zip), the fabric of the regular ones (cotton blend) at my Macys was completely different than that of the petite ones (rayon blend). The petite ones fit great, skimming over my legs, whereas the regular ones fit really poorly--clingy and sagging at weird spots. Then again, you may just need to try ponte pants that are cut differently!

Cathy, they were definitely not petite. Petite would have been too short for me and these were too long. I looked for the petite ones that Shiny has (and I think you have? Are they the same?) just to try them and couldn't find them. I found a pair with zippers instead, which wasn't what I was looking for.

OK, I thought the pants I tried were these:

But according to the website, these are a rayon blend and they cost more than the ones I saw. I couldn't find any cotton ones online. I didn't check the fabric content of the ones I tried though. Hmm. Mysterious!

Maya, there are two actually two similar looking regular INC ones at the stores the moment, the only difference being the fabric ( and the price). The ones you linked to are the rayon ones which , at least for me, fit million times better than the cotton ones ( I have tried them both on). So ti sounds like maybe you tried on the cotton ones, especially if they cost lless.

Oh great, thanks for that confirmation Tanya. I checked the "find it in store" feature for a few different sizes and they all confirm that the rayon ones are not available in the store, which means I must have tried the cotton ones. I will keep ponte pants on my to-buy list and order them online.

Did you find them TTS? The 4's were a bit snug for me.
