Did anyone ever try these Born snake sneakers?

I'm wondering whether anyone who has tried these can comment about the padding/support in the sole. It looks a bit on the thin and too-flat side to me, but on the other hand my Born flat oxfords are super comfy despite having thin, flat soles.

By the way, Nordies' has them for super cheap but my size is sold out. =(

I have a similar Born sneaker, the "Apryl," and I did find them to be a bit thin and flat. I sized up half a size and put in a slim arch support insert, which works well. But then I found a great deal on the Paul Green "Posh," on ebay and I have to admit I haven't worn the Borns since. I found that the stitching on the tongue, etc., on the Borns was still irritating to the top of my feet, in comparison to the buttery softness of the Paul Greens. I really like snake version of the Borns, though, and think it would be worth a try.

I did have these on my maybe list but have not tried them on yet. I've had great luck with Born flats but haven't owned a pair of their sneakers yet.

Thanks, Faith. I agree that Paul Green sneakers are amazing. I used to have a pair of red ones that I wore to death several years ago. Would love to find another pair but not for full price!

I also plan to put orthotics in these (either 3/4 length superfeet or full length ones to replace the existing insole). But for some reason in certain types of flat sneakers (like Converse and similar) even swapping out the insoles does not make them wearable for me - my arches still end up collapsing painfully by the end of the day.

I really do need some walkable sneakers. But the thing is I don't do sporty, so I definitely want something on the more artsy side of things. I like the blue snake print on the Borns.

What do we think of these (in the metallic)? Bordering on frumpy/SSB or potentially cute?

I like the Eccos. They look more gold than SSB. I don't think frumpy at all--very cute, in fact. I also really love the PG that Faith posted--just not the price.

I bought these (Born Ilisha) in a metallic sort of gold in the Fall of 2012 from Nordstrom Rack and they have been absolutely perfect for my trips. Last year in Paris and London we walked 10 miles one day and many miles on each of the other days and they never gave me a blister. I was totally impressed with them, and I have fussy feet. For me, the support is good (I cannot wear Converse either, not enough support there). Thank you for this tip, I have just ordered the blue snake print ones from Nordstrom - what a great deal. The last Ilishas ran a 1/2 size big, so the size 6 should fit me just fine.

I was wanting those Born's, too, Diana, but I figured they were going to be uncomfortable as always for my bunion, since they tend to run narrow. I like both the Eccos. I could see either of them in your wardrobe. I'm having so much trouble finding something comfortable myself between my knee and my bunion. I got these Clarks in the pewter metallic just the other day. They're very comfortable. They look oxford-y on and nicer than the picture. And in the metallic, they look "just funky enough" (how's that one?!) to pass muster. I think.

I really like that snake print. I had tried on the gold version at the Rack a while back, & didnt buy them I regret. They were quite comfortable, and I was planning on adding superfeet inside & they seemed to have enough room.

I did buy the Joseph Siebel Caspians, I thought they would be a good sneaker style & now they are going to be sold. I wore them once & the flat sole killed my arches

I saw the snake ones in the color you have pictured at the Rack today on clearance with another 25% off. I have metallic Born sneakers and they are very very comfortable. I probably should have pounced on the snake but have the SE snake booties already. Try the Rack if you have one

Glad to hear the good reviews! I was at the rack today and couldn't find this color but I tried these on in a different color. They were very comfy, a bit too flat on their own but my superfeet insert seemed to fix that. They run true to size or possibly slightly big. I usually wear between 7.5 and 8, and the 8 was way too big and I couldn't lace them tight enough to not walk out of them. The 7.5 fit well (including with the superfeet). Keep in mind I have low volume feet though.

Anyway I think I'll probably end up ordering the blue snake. Although I did see the metallic goldish color at the rack (not in my size though) and I liked it a lot. Would be nude for me the same way my gold oxfords work. Hmm...

Update: I ordered the blue from Nordstrom after Diana started this post and I saw they were on super sale. I ended up sending them back. They fit OK but were a little non-cushioning, more like the comfort level of ballet flats not supportive sneakers. That might have been fine for me but I decided the blue snakeskin was just too out there for my style, and not that versatile. I suspect that one of the more neutral colors might have worked for me better.

I do see that Zappos has them (for a higher price, of course!) in some color and size combinations. I am considering ordering the silver but am not sure. To me, snakeskin reads dressier so the combination with sneaker styling is a little odd to consider using in outfits. I think for someone who's style is more organic/RATE these sneaks would be great.

Did you know the Rack people in green shirts can check stock on items in different sizes at other locations???
I like the Borns, the Eccos I like the metallic, but they are more gearish.

I have these Born sneakers in the blue snakeskin and I find them very comfy! I love Born sneakers and had a pair of leopard print ones last year, which I wore out. I have a bunion and fussy feet and I think they are comfortable for lots of walking. I'm sure they would be even more comfortable if I put in some insoles, but haven't really felt the need actually. I love 'em.
I think they look cute with boyfriend jeans or other navy pants.
