Denim Overalls or Denim Romper?

I really am drawn to this GAP Denim Romper.

My query: If you saw this IRL, would you think Overalls or Romper. Also, for fun, give your real life reaction--or not. ;D

Overalls!! I don't think even Anthro-fab you could save this look. Unless you added a straw cowboy hat and a big ol' stick of grass hanging out of your mouth.
I do like rompers but not this one.

I'm not sure I'd think in lines of whether it was overalls or romper, but I think it is cute and fresh looking. I'd have to see it from straight on front though. The cut of the legs could be a problem.

It seems a bit too farmer Jane to me. And quite square. It's more overall than romper to me. I had a few pair very much like it 10 and 15 years ago, actually!

Overalls. And they look rather saggy to me - sorry.
For me, a romper has to be decent without a shirt underneath (a little cami for cleavage covering is OK), and this definitely does not pass the test!

Okay, my problem is this - I think either the style has to be edgier, or the material has to be something other than denim, like spun gold. Kidding. But silk, or linen, or parachute nylon. The denim plus the basic makes it look a little too child-wear to me somehow.

You, my dear, would look adorable in anything, but it's not your job to bring these so-so items up to par.

Not a fan. It reminds me of something my 9 month old would wear - they are saggy overalls. I don't find this look sexy or attractive at all. I remember when overalls were "in" when I was in 7th grade. No plans to rock that look again any time soon!

Those wide legs are what give me the most pause :)! Agree with Una about the materials needing to be nicer for this to have any sort of chance of looking polished and fab, IMHO.

Okay, Okay. So I know these DO look more like overalls than a romper and I have like six rompers so it is not a fact of desperately wanting a romper.

AGWS: I do want to look younger, but perhaps not 9 month old young. Kindergarten is my limit.

Thanks to everyone who thought MAYBE I could pull these off, but alas they ARE super casual for usually uncasual me....I am not going to pull the trigger unless they are deeply discounted and then I will rock them for real and pretend it is 1994 like it is nobody's business. *whisper* Please go on a mad sale and have my size still in stock--1994 here I come!

Don't laugh, but I actually have these farmer johns -- held onto since c. 1968! In Scouts, we cut off the legs and wore these as our uniform when we were day camp counselors. I haven't worn mine probably since college in the early '70s. Wearing them scandalized my relatives -- which is probably why I've refused to let them go!!! Since they are so loose, I can still get into them, although my weight isn't that much more since those high school days; it is just distributed differently. Overalls are a hassle in the bathroom, esp. if you put anything in the front pocket. Mine carry great memories. . . .
