Confession time: I've been doing a lot of online and in store shopping, in preparation for my upcoming month in Banff as well as a 5 day work retreat in Niagara on the Lake immediately preceding my writing retreat.
And in the past few days, I've bought a lot of denim!
I actually went in search of a white denim jacket. Came up empty there.
But, on the theory that a woman can never have too many denim jackets (especially if they cost less than $10), I thrifted this peculiar item today It is a sort of...what? Military? Moto? I don't know what! The brand is "Seduction" (no doubt some juniors brand). But it's nice, stretchy denim, with scrunchable sleeves and a totally different look to my other denim jackets.
It is not styled here (which I know can be the YLF kiss of death). I just threw it on with what I was wearing to try on another new item (to come, in a future post). Suggestions for styling MOST welcome. It's quite substantial fabric; I wouldn't wear it in my Ontario summers but I think for the mountains it might work out. The stitching, by the way, is lime green, not yellow.
My second cheap find was another denim pencil skirt. Yes, I already have one. But that one is a very dark wash midi length. This one is just above the knee and a lighter wash; I think it will work a bit better with flats. Again, not styled - just thrown on so you can see it.
The waist is a bit loose (as with my other skirt) but if I want to wear it right at my actual waist I can tuck and belt.
And finally, some new legging jeans that I got on a super sale. These are my second pair of premium denims. They are by Bleulab and are reversible. One side is a medium wash denim with some fading (so quite casual) and one side is waxed a sort of purplish brown colour.
Again, not styled really - but I'm wearing a new thrifted gingham AE boyfriend shirt with the purplish version.
You can't really tell from the pics, but these fit amazingly well and feel super comfortable.
However, I have a problem. The zip pull broke! There is no return on these because they were final sale. It did not break because I mishandled it; it just broke. As a matter of fact, I can get the jeans on and off without using the zipper, but I am wondering if I should write to the company and ask about a replacement zipper. It is a special one due to the construction of the pants.
