Here is how the outfit worn in 2011. became an outfit worn a year later.
(The original "Day 1" thread is here.)
- The Original.
- 1-to-1 replica. Can't even look at this one. I knew I wasn't goig to wear this, but it was interesting to see how I'd feel in this clothes. One word - blah. No structure.
- The first thing to be replaced was the cardigan. I had put the blazer instead, but thus suit-y look was waaay too formal.
- Ta-raaa! I swapped the black pants for the jeans and things started to look promising.
- Tried it with the belt worn last year to be as faithful to the original as possible, but something in the combination of my short waist, thin belt and my peArfect figure just doesn't look right.
- Now... how about different cardigan instead of the jacket? That belt is still off to my eye.
- Belt out, top untucked... I'm onto something here actually... but this saturated color combination needed something to freshen it up and...
- ...my jewellry-box superhero in the form of the ginormous pearl was the right answer once again.
And here it is. From one cardigan to another, I went from what was my first posted outfit and my old typical work outfit to what's actually become one of my favorite formulas: simple top + cascading cardigan + necklace + jeans. Ideally, I'd wear the skinnies with this one outside work, but I find bootcut jeans to be more office appropriate.
Can't promise I'll do this every day of the week, it just happened that I had some spare time this afternoon and though it might be fun to show how my mind worked
