I noticed that my favorite sewing pattern maker, Liesl Gibson, has released a pattern for culottes on her site:

It is a "two scissor" pattern (out of five), so presumably relatively easy to sew.
I have only sewn from her children's patterns (Oliver & S) but I have only good things to say about her patterns- they are extremely well designed and explained and I learn a new technique practically every time I use one.
I'm a little tempted to try and make a pair for myself!
