Costume party outfit!

I'm going to a costume party next weekend, where the theme is the letter "t". So, you have to dress up as something starting with t. To save myself some money, I figured I can wear the fifties outfit I use for swing dancing, and be a "time traveller"! I was wondering if you think the outfit is convincing as it is, or, if you can think of any cheap ways to make it even more obvious?

Ooo great outfit. I'd put your hair up in a high pony tail, pop a chiffony scarf round your neck and a cardi round your shoulders x

Edit- a net underskirt could look great too x

Oh.. the make-up is gorgeous! But for the ocasion I would choose a bolder make-up, as the outfit is very light I would go for the 50's red lipstick!
I would add someting more dramatic to the outfit.. maybe a wide red belt?

Great idea for a costume. The only thing I might suggest as a conversation starter is some kind of little electronic device or badge - it's what you use to stay in touch with other time-travellers, or locate your pod or whatever it is that does the travelling.

Louise, I really like your idea about a high pony tail and chiffon scarf, I'll look out for one of those! If I can find a cheap net underskirt I'll give it a try and see how it feels, it would be such a fun add to the outfit I think!

Rute, thank you! I've also been thinking about red lips, but, I NEVER wear lipstick, so I'd just be worrying that it's smudged around the lips or got on my teeth or something... But I agree, it would probably be a great addition! I've also been thinking about getting a wide belt for this outfit, but, there are a few small buttons on the top of the skirt, and I think it clashes a bit with a belt...

Hmm, I thought the outfit could use a short cardigan laid over the shoulders, with one of those pretty 50's chain clips from one side of the neckline to the other to hold it on.

Ooo Karin, I like the second scarf a lot. IMO the patterns will compliment without being to coordinated.
