I am sad to say I think it is too big I got so excited with the pants. Maybe I'm over analyzing though. If anyone owns this jacket themselves I'd be very curious to hear or see how it fits on you for comparison. Here is how they show it fitting the model. http://www.express.com/studio-...../index.pro

how does it fit in the shoulders?

As pictured - not really too big but not too small either. It has small shoulder pads.

Sorry. Definitely too big in the shoulders. See how it makes a slight indentation between the shoulder seam and collar? Layer up three or so layers including a sweater, then put on the jacket. That will give you a better sense of how it should fit! Hopefully, a size smaller won't be too small, but it looks like it won't be.

It does look too big. How do you feel about those sleeves? Are they ruched or something? I know you didn't ask our opinion about those :), but I think they will date the jacket too, if you are going for something more classic/versatile, IMHO.

Jonesy, yes the sleeves might date the jacket, but to be honest, it's the only option in their zig zag tweed that will make a matching suit. I find them fun but do hope that they will fit a bit closer to the elbow if I size down. The ruching looks more natural, in my opinion, when it's closer to the elbow as if you just pushed up your sleeves.

Well, I decided to order a 2 on the way, and then I can compare and return which one doesn't fit. Side by side is the best way to tell, I figure.

I bet the size 2 will fit better. It's likely the jacket on the model was pinned in the back to make it more fitted.

Midwest Girl, I had considered that as well Guess I'll know in a few days when the size 2 arrives. I imagine I could have minor alterations done to get it to fit more like on the model (take in side seams a bit, etc).

Yes, I see what you mean about a closer fit on the sleeves looking better--I totally agree. Let's see what the size 2 can do for you!

After thinking about bj1111's question, I got to measuring. The shoulders are 15" across and the waist is a full 32". No wonder I could grab a good 2 inches of fabric in the back. But the bust is just 35", so only 3" difference. I think most of my jackets have more like a 5" difference. Will be interested to see if the size 2 has a somewhat more tailored look on me or not.

Size down and you should be okay.
