COH Amber - How's the fit?

Hi everyone

I promised to post pictures of the COH Ambers I got recently. I haven't worn bootcut jeans in ages, I'm not even sure anymore if this is how they are supposed to fit (I'm so used to seeing myself in trouser jeans, and the bootcuts I wore some years ago were definitely not as fitted in the thigh area).

Also: I went with the smaller size because I read on the forum that they might stretch a bit. Hopefully I'm not getting a 'stuffed sausage' effect now?

What do you think:
- Do they fit like bootcuts are supposed to fit?
- Do they look good enough on me to keep?

I found the wrap cardigan at Benetton and couldn't resist the colours and the stripes;-)

P.S. Next time I'll try to get my feet in the pictures too!

Hi Inge, I have those jeans too and they do fit more snug in the thigh. They do not stretch out much so I think you should feel comfortable in them right off the bat when you put them on. Some people like them tighter than others. When I was in Alaska a sales gal wanted me to buy 26 when I usually wear 27. Everyone there said they looked fine but I didn't feel fine so I got the 27 anyway and I'm glad I did. Walking up stairs I felt there just wasn't enough stretch for my legs to move properly in the 26.
This is the first time I've seen the wiskering on the Ambers. Mine are a dark rinse.
There is a nice COH trouser cut, I think they are called Hudson.

Inge, I think the jeans look *REALLY* fantastic. Are they comfortable? I'm not seeing any stuffed sausage at all. And I LOVE the cardigan. ;)

KILLER. A perfect fit in every way! (I happen to be wearing my Ambers right now too).

KILLER cardi too. That style was made for tall lasses like yourself and you wear it with spunk and grace :0)

Inge, I think they look great and I'm not seeing any sausage! They do stretch - but not a whole lot. For example, my COH Elson's, which are the exact fabric as your Amber's (and also have the same subtle whiskering), take about 3 or 4 wearings before they start looking stretched out, and need a run through the wash. It is true my Elson's seem to stretch more than the Amber's and Huttons. But I agree with San - go with the size that feels most comfortable. Any stretch will not be an entire size worth, or even a half-size.

And if you like trouser style, definitely try the Hutton's too!

Inge, you are casual perfection! You look great in the jeans.

Off-topic, but can you tie your sweater in the back? I have a similar style and the saleswoman showed me the two ways you're wearing yours (open and tied in front) and then wrapped it around me and tied it in the back. It's a fun alternative!

Ooooh thank you!!!-)

They're very comfortable actually (and incredibly soft too, mmmm), so I'm not worried about not being able to move in them. I just wasn't completely sure if they look as good as they feel. I have to admit that I feel quite fab in them (and slimmer than in my trouser jeans). You lasses are confirming my feelings. And yay, a killer rating from Angie too!

I'll definitely be trying the Hutton's when I need a new pair of trouser jeans, thanks for the tip San and Shiny.

Laura: I just tried it. Perfect! This cardigan is becoming more versatile by the minute.

I agree with everyone - you look great!

I like the jeans, but I love the cardi! You paired them great. It's hard to find such great fitting jeans.

They look super on you Inge! The only kind of sausage I see is a clever one :)

I had the opposite question as you: I mean, the first time I tried trouser jeans, I didn't know if they were meant to be so loose at the thigh because I was used to wearing bootcuts and skinnies. Apparently they are just two completely different fits.

Love the sweater too!
