Closet Purge - skirt, stay or go?

I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping you all can help me with a question about a skirt. I'm in the process of purging my closet and I can't decide whether this skirt should stay or go. Is the handkerchief hem dated? Should I keep the skirt or send it to Goodwill?

Hi, Sara, (nice name and welcome!

I like the colors and you have great legs for skirts. What type of waist band does it have? Can you summerize it by wearing with bare legs and flat sandals and going for a summer boho look?

I don't think the dark legs and top are working for me. . . but I'd love to see you give it a summer boho try.

I'm also interested in what others say!

It looks kind of boho but the rest of the outfit doesn't have that same vibe . . . so it's hard to judge as worn here.

I don't mind the skirt's hem and vote keep. But I do think it needs some lighter colors to go with the casual vibe of the skirt. As mentioned by others, the darker colors are a bit high contrast here. If the darker colors had a denim jacket that may balance out the skirt. For warmer days I vote a simple white t-shirt and some wedge sandals to give an airy flowy vibe to the outfit. I vote yay to keeping the skirt, just restyled. And welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll hold on to it a little longer and see how some different styling works this summer. I have some light brown wedge sandals that might look good.

Angie - I never thought of the skirt as being wide before, but now that you bring it up, maybe so. I just never thought of it quite like that. Most of my skirts are A-line or pencil so this one is different silhouette for me.

As far as the skirt, i pretty much agree with everything MNSara said. I think the skirt has potential and maybe just needs to be styled a little differently.

i like the colors and pattern of the skirt, but would style it differently as others have mentioned. a solid top drawing from the colors in the skirt with sandals would look great.
