Well.. I am touched by all your comments, your support, wisdom and sometimes therapy. I never expected such elaborate comments. I read each one very carefully. Thank you all for taking the time.
A few personal replies:
Smittie: Reading these comments I think suppressing your inner biker chick, is the wrong thing to do LOL.
Nebraskim and Always trying: my friends don't think I am frumpy or dressed to young. Quite the contrary, they know I am a bit of a mental case (I laugh very loudly, very often and I say things which sometimes shock people, even the Dutch haha). And they like the style of the 5th photo.
Gaylene: I agree with you and so many of you: style photo 1-4 and style 5 is just that: a style, appropriate for a certain occasion.
Deborah: I agree with you, personality goes a long way in how you dress. Apparently your attitude, your face expression make sure the clothes are appropriate.
Angie: thanks for the compliments. That is ever so nice coming from somebody who (to me) is still a bit of a goeroe when it comes to style. I remember when I first hit on one of your OFTD (where you wore your silver brogues), I thought : "I am not going to follow her! She will give me an inferiority complex" haha.
Echo: I thought the narrowness of the skinnies in combination with the sneakers was perhaps "a bit much".
DEB: yes I have tried flat, pointy silver shoes as well (with a little wedge) and they looked very nice too. It is just that these sneakers are sooo good. They will never give me blisters.

Such boosts certainly encourage to post again.

Wow! Supremely classy. I love the first white jacket. It is so clean cut and flatters your great figure. I like the way the bag looks like it could go with anything and is suer practical while still being fashionable.

I assume that most of us have a couple of different looks we like to wear. I dress differently depending on what I'm doing: work, travel, running errands, weekend brunch, date night, etc.
Cut yourself some slack. You've earned the right to dress the way you want.

To quote that 90's song, "Free your mind, and the rest will follow....."

Your casual look still has elegance and polish - no worries there! You can afford to trust your instincts --- they are well honed. Your looks are flattering and completely appropriate to a grown woman with a great sense of style.

Whatever style this is, it's lovely. You're making me miss Parsley! She had some similar pieces and wore them fearlessly too.

Love your outfits and you -- both inspire me! Please continue to post, I love seeing other women in my age group in their attire. - Denise
