Choosing shoes part 2: bootie edition

In my earlier thread of woe about finding shoes, Dashrashi and Inge posted a wonderful slew of links. This made me realize that some low-heeled booties could work with my orthotics and help spruce up my look. I could use your advice on some of my favorites from their links and a couple others I found.

Bearing in mind that my goal is to move away from sneaker-ish shoes, which of the following do you like or think could work? (I haven't tried on most of these yet, so for the moment let's pretend that all are orthotic-compatible.)

I really like the Biviel the most, and my second runner up would be the Camper MIL.

I know it was Inge that suggested them, but the Camper PEUs with the blue buttons are sick. (Good-sick, like "siiiiiick," not bad-sick.) I also kind of love the Kelsi sneaker/boots--especially in silver. I think the All-blacks and the Unpluggeds are also very current and would go well with your current wardrobe.

I like the first two Camper styles a lot. As long as your orthotics are good, those should be fine, but I've had problems in the past with Camper not offering enough arch support, especially in their flat styles. I don't like the Seibel much, but that brand always feels good on! My favorite is the Biviel, I think. I've never bought Biviel, but I've tried them on many times, and they seem supportive and nice!

I also like the biviel but they would offer a very similar look to your fluevogs when worn under trousers. Would you consider the brown?

Medusa - I don't know what your budget is. It's a bit pricier but the brand is fantastic and the ankle boots they've come out with this year are superb. Feels like butter on my feet. Super comfortable. Looks great. Paul Green. You can find them at Nordstrom's for one.

Dashrashi, I looked at the PEUs with the blue buttons in the store and I had a similar reaction! (I'm cracking up at the way you wrote siiiick...I have this image in my head of you saying "Duuuuude, those shoes are siiiiick," and I keep laughing.) I worry though that the won't look as good under pants where you can't see the buttons.

Julie, good point about the similarity to the Fluevogs. I was thinking of the brown anyway, just for something different.

Garmenta, OMG! Those boots are fab. What color do you like? I was sort of drawn to the orange-ish tan but maybe that would be too much? MPJ, looks like you are voting for the tan....

I vote Seibel or Biviel. Most versatile and your style.

The EM boots are gorgeous. Have had them on a few clients. They might work for you Medusa. Mixed reviews on the comfort levels unfortunately.

Thanks for all the comments everyone - sorry I've been slow to get back to this post. But I really do appreciate the feedback.

I think I'm going to wait until the holiday craziness dies down and then order a few of these to test for comfort.
