Everyone should now have access to YLF. Thanks for your patience while I did that update.
Here are some of the changes:
- New private messaging system: The PM system now works exactly like the forum. So you can add pictures to private messages, for example. So there is no "inbox" or "sent messages". Just a list of messages where the thread with the most recent reply is on top. Note that the old system is still accessible for reading only, and we will keep it there until end September.
- New profile: The profile system is new. There are some tweaks to the profile fields, but more will come. The change here was to lay the groundwork for more sophisticated profile fields in future.
- New email notifications: If you go to your profile page you will see a settings tab that includes settings for the email notifications you want to receive. For now, there are notifications for PM and for forum posts. I will write more about this in a blog post.
There are some other little changes, but those are the main ones.
This was a big set of changes under the hood, so despite the testing we've done I expect to see some teething problems. Please feel free to post here if you see anything wrong, but the most effective way to reach me with issues is to send email to: feedback@youlookfab.com
