Challenge: Reality vs Fantasy #5

It's been a fun week doing this challenge. Thanks for setting it Angie!

For my reality outfit today, I decided on dark jeans as I haven't worn them all week. I needed some colour for a bit of lightness, so I added my leopard print sweater and for popping out on an errand I added light boots and threw on my olive trench seen in my second challenge day outfit.

For my fantasy outfits I did three rendition with the last one being more of a future reality when the weather warms up. So for the first version, I'm heading into total fantasy, having a little play and imagining I'm attending London or New York fashion week! Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Anna Wintour and Emmanuelle Alt. I had a play with a scarf and the teal boots that I adore, but rarely get the chance to wear. I'm never getting rid of them though, especially since they were accidentally reduced online from £140 to £30! What do you think of the scarf variations? Oh, and of course I had to wear my black coat (only used for funerals usually) over my shoulders Not sure if it works, or looks Fashion Week appropriate, but I had fun! The last rendition with my culottes is something I'll no doubt wear as soon as the weather obliges. BTW, coat, both tops and culottes are more of my own creations.

Wow Diane, what a stunning fantasy outfit! Totally worth of Paris fashion week. I especially love it with scarf tied around the waist. I do hope that you wear some version of it. The reality outfit is wonderful too, the colors of that top are very flattering. You totally nailed this challenge, it has been so much fun following your posts.

You look so incredibly glam in the fantasy pictures! WOW!! Absolutely knockout, and I think Mr. D. should be offering to take you to a posh dinner in that outfit.

You also look terrific in the RL outfits, too. But wouldn't life be different if you were able to dress like that fantasy self more often? Interesting how the drama goes way up when RL doesn't intrude...

Lovely reality outfit and amazing fantasy outfit. How brave of you to contemplate rubbing shoulders with Anna Wintour et al - I'd be terrified just thinking of it! Seriously, though, I think your outfit would attract some envious glances from the fashionistas for sure.

Right. This is my absolute favourite fantasty outfit of yours. It's got verve, serious verve.

Now that I've adequately recovered, I can string a coherent sentence or two together about your outfits.

Love the casual Reality Outfit. You look sensational in earth tones and shades of orange and brown. The last culottes outfit - #5 - is fabulous too. Super simple and fashionable. Great tomato red sandals.

Now. For the Finale.

*drum roll*

#2 and #4 = Killer to the power of Killer. Anna Wintour wishes she looked as hip and fab as you. THOSE BOOTS WITH THE CULOTTES. Knock-Out. The scarf and black draped coat. Sensational. WOOOHOOOOOO. LOVE IT ALL.

You have aced this challenge like no other, Diane. This version was my favourite. WOW. WELL DONE.

Oh, my, thank you Angie...! I have to say that I've enjoyed every minute of doing the challenge this week. I felt my creative juices flowing and had such fun designing outfits in my head. Actually I never got to sleep till gone 1am last night with my mind whirring with ideas! I've found that I've been thinking a bit out of the box and surprised myself a bit. On a bit of a down note though. It made me wish I had more opportunities in my life to really go for it and be more bold and dressed up. I still had a blast though

HAH. Guess you'll get better sleep next week. And perhaps you can create the opportunities to dress up.

Oooh boy! Do those fashion week outfits look chic. Scarf is lovely both ways, but I especially like it at the waist. The teal boots are amazing. Your self-made items are stunning again. I really like how those culottes look equally fab with boots or sandals. And your reality outfit is just great--those tan booties are perfect for offsetting the gorgeous print pullover and dark jeans.

You look stunningly amazing in your fantasy fashion week outfit! The culottes with the boots are awesome; did you have an inspiration pic or did this all come out of your brilliant fashion mind? I love the drama your scarf adds, especially when tied at your waist. Even your complexion looks phenomenal; did you do your make up differently for the fantasy outfit? Or is it the glow from pretending you are at Fashion Week in London or New York?

Thank you Windchime! The only bit of inspiration was that I remembered seeing photos of FW attendees wearing their coats draped nonchalantly across their shoulders. Most of the idea was just from imagination. As for make up, well, I don't usually wear black right by my face so I did put on more blusher than usual and it was all freshly applied.
