Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Casual pearls, part 2

I took a few pictures of casual outfits with pearls. I apologize for the quality - I had very little time, but was too eager to get to the bottom of it :)
First, what do you think about the necklace itself, in terms of scale and versatility?
Second - does it work casually? Note that all outfits are pretty dark, since I wanted to see if pearls would help that. I would normally try to go for more contrast.
Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Both the necklace and the outfits are gorgeous Marianne! I love each and every one of them.

Marianne, I think the scale is exactly right for you and I agree totally that this brightens up all of your "darker" outfits in such a perfect way. I think it looks gorgeous in every single outfit except with the first one with the tunic. I can't explain why but it just looks off to me although I am sure I am probably the only one who would feel this way so you should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt.

My favorite is outfit three (the wear with Cons choice) but four is close. Something about the pearls peeking out of neckline is fab to me. THe necklace just works though! Nice choice!

LOVE! Great looks, Marianne. I particularly like the 1st and the 3rd, but they all work.

I LOVE your pearls Marianne, I'm definitely turning a shade of green.

I love the pearls with three of the four outfits (2,3 & 4). This is because I have a preference for the pearls peeking from between your collar and in the first photo too much of the necklace seems exposed IMO.

If you are wearing an outfit without a collar, you could add a long string of smaller pearls for added drama.

Look three is absolutely gorgeous.

I am just going to echo the sentiments of the other posters and say that I love each look.

I think it looks better with outfits 3 and 4, I'm not sure why..

I love the pearls the way you've worn them in all your looks but especially swoon over outfits 1 and 3.
Well done

Thank you, ladies! I'm very glad you approve :)
Hmm I see #3 is the favorite. I was thinking it's still a little dark. I do feel more "right" having pearls with a collar as opposed to a tee... I need to think about it.
Julie, thank you for the suggestion, I will try that.
Agrace, I am very happy my pictures are helpful. I've got too many ideas from everyone here!

Love them ALL! These are the kind of outfits I'd happily lift directly into my own wardrobe. The pearls add a terrific touch of brightness to all of them!

Thank you Ellen and Angie! Angie, you've been spoiling many of us with killer ratings lately. I am not complaining! Just an observation :)

So right, Marianne. I guess it’s a natural reaction to the sizzling style quotient on this forum at the moment! It’s AMAZING how people have evolved their styles. I am gob smacked.

Marianne, I love these outfits! The pearls add a really nice touch. I'm particularly fond of outfit number one, I really like the dress with skinny jeans and boots. :)
