I went on a fabulous shopping spree this weekend in my newly launched effort to overhaul my wardrobe. I did very well! (many thanks to Gap's "give and get" 30% off sale)

I am trying to incorporate belts into my outfits to better define my waist. I intend to wear them over cardigans, some dresses, etc. Are there any rules/guideline/etc I should follow in regard to the width of the belts? I have an assortment now, from a super skinny patent leather to a really wide braided leather.
