Can Short do Wide AND Short? - YouLookFab Forum

Referencing Una's recent post on wide trousers, http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....rt-do-wide which look fab on her BTW, I'm arriving at the next logical question (at least in my mind). I have a duplicate pair of H&M glen plaid trousers that are fitting me better than in the below picture when I was <ahem> leaner, so am very tempted to crop them to just above my new burgundy patent, platform, lace-up hiking boots from Rag&Bone. That way I can have a high/low H&M&R&B outfit, lolz.
I don't have much to lose in doing so, but want to get the look right. I know it'll be JFE at most, but more fashion forward for the season of maximalism. I am also wondering if perhaps a rough hem or similar might add a little more RATE to the trousers? Has anyone pinned any similar looks? I haven't been able to find anything like what I'm thinking.

I say go for it. This picture keeps coming up on my pinterest and I'm kind of obsessed with WHY it works? Is it the bareness up top? Because she's very slim along with being petite? Whatever it is, I think this looks adorable.

Heck, maybe she's not even petite? She does look it though, but I'm terrible at proportions.

Go for it!! I think your body type really helps here. Slim legs and hips. With those cool boots attention will be on your footwear for sure!

Love the boots so obviously showing them off is a great idea. I would do a regular hem, no cuff, because I am not sure the H&M material will stand up to a rough hem.

Thanks all for the feedback, I think a standard hem might work. Of course, I COULD just try the ones that Angie posted about in her culottes forum post, and see if those work better. They sound slightly more substantial in weight, which might be better for F/W wear.
