Well, it appears the question is moot because it's sold out! Ah well. I hesitated because I don't know my size, because the price, because because... anyway. I may put a call in to the Toronto store and see if they will have it at the sale. But it may not be my time yet.
Angie, that is a great question. If an item is an essential for me style, I never treat it as too precious. I'll wear it to the ground. My Reiss blazer is a perfect example. I am sorry to say it is starting to show a little shine at the cuffs and inside sleeves....but to me, that is a sign of what a great purchase it was. It may have been pricey, and was (in fact it was the most expensive clothing item I'd ever bought, to that point) but I wear that baby!
The only times I orphan expensive items are when they turn out not to be staples for me -- like my gilet, alas. (Note -- not saying I regret that purchase -- I love it! But I can guarantee that the Burberry coat, or one in that style, if it fit and looked good, would be worn more often in a single year than I might wear the gilet in 10.)
