Boxy denim dress and pixie cut

Hi, I have a short pixie and I recently bought a denim dress from Madewell. It has a collar and short sleeves and cut is boxy. I tried it on and found it looked too boyish. I pulled up the collar and it looked better. I was wondering if there are other styles to wear it so that it doesn't look too boyish. I checked a post by Angie about her pixie and boxy denim but I her dress had longer sleeves and dress seemed more fitted.
I am not sure if I want to keep the dress or return it.

I don't wear heels generally. May be a necklace will do it or something more may be? Any ideas?

It's hard to tell without seeing you in the dress. I suspect that your pixie haircut and denim dress makes you look sassy or cute, and not "too" boyish (whatever that would be). You could belt it or wear jewelry. But if the cut of the dress feels off to you, then I'm not sure accessories will change that.

Without seeing photos, I can relate. My solution is usually adding "girlyness" with jewelry and shoes. If it's a summer sun dress type, necklace, strappy gladiator sandals and a colorful or boho bag may do the trick.

Thank you for all the ideas. Love the gladiator and colorful bag idea. That may do the trick. I love belting but this dress may become even shorter with belt. And the point of a loose carefree dress is lost.

I think it looks great on you! I do think belting could be an option but I agree that decreases the carefree-ness. Definitely not too boyish! What about a long pendant necklace?

I think it's cute on you! The collar and sleeves give the dress an androgynous flavor, and maybe that vibe just doesn't feel right to you. I wonder if you might roll the sleeves-- or even cut them off to match the hem--giving a more cap-sleeve look. I'd wear the dress with sandals or sneakers, maybe a fun bracelet (or two or three), and some simple earrings. I'd keep it light and easy feeling.

I like it on you and prefer it unbelted. If you add something sparkly (cuff bracelet, dangly earrings, metallic sandals or purse) , it might add the more feminine feel you are going for. Or do you have a bright colored bag ( hot pink)?

Thanks everyone. I just stopped thinking too much and wore the dress unbelted and felt so comfortable. I just paired them with tall gladiators. I liked the way it looked
