I've been searching for good flat ankle boots. I went to Barney's last week and fell in love, unexpectedly, with these boots. Reader, I bought them. They are comfortable, classy, versatile, very much my style. I love how they fit my ankle: they are narrow but a bit wider than my actual ankle, so they look fine on bare legs or with skinny jeans. I even tried them with rolled-up boyfriend jeans and it worked.

They are also very expensive. (My birthday is next week, so I can ask my boyfriend to chip in if I decide to keep them.) They are something I can imagine wearing for ten years, but I'm not sure how stylish they are. Right now I'm seeing more polished almond toe boots, like the beatle boots Angie highlighted a few months ago. And I really like that look too. These AllSaints boots are the competition, I suppose:

It comes down to awesome-ness. Are the Barneys boots awesome for me? Or too bland for the price? Here are my pinterest boards, to attempt to show my style - including the shoes I already own. My daily look includes skinny or boyfriend jeans, or skirts with or without tights. Right now I probably wear combat boots or oxfords most often but I'm tired of the combat boots.

ps - A sad shopping tale. I found an ideal black denim jacket for $13 at Crossroads (secondhand store) today. Great! I was about to order one new. But in the process I got a $65 parking ticket, because I only had enough coins for 15 minutes in the meter and it took me 18 minutes in Crossroads. ARGH. Double ARGH.

pps - Returned the Theyskens blazer. Thanks for the feedback. Lovely but not perfect for me.
