Do you like them, hate them, wear them or what? last year I wore leg warmers to fill in gap of my tall cognac boots a few times. One disappeared so I cut them in half and it works just as well. also found boot cuffs at Marshalls and bought tw pairs of them. I think they look great with tights or skinnies, same color as the boots or a color to match a big sweater or jacket. To me they are a great cold weather outdoorsy look. I wear them with my snow boots to keep my jeans dryer in deep snow. Not like photos below!!!!! although #2 may be an OK look.

I'm attracted, but I'm not sure if they will make my short legs look stumpy, with contrast and texture. I bought a pair to try. If they work, I may knit some--it would be a quick, fun project.

I wore a pair of black legwarmers in my dark grey boots for a while which are too wide for me now. But never with jeans, only with tights. And they weren't as visible because they were low contrast. I do like some outfits where they are more visible like in #2, but not all. I don't like #1 at all.

I prefer to just wear tall, thick socks (sometimes I scrunch them with lower boots too) as that way my feet stay warm too. Plus I always have extra room in the foot/ankle area so I prefer to have the thicker sock there.

But it's the same look, and I like it. =)

I'm not fond of the super 80's legwarmers over pumps look in #1 though.

"I think they look great with tights or skinnies, same color as the boots"--me, too, and they help with tall boots that work with skinnies but are a bit roomy for just a tight. The examples shown look a bit clydesdale to me (heavy-footed? not sure how to say it). They are more of "a look" than blend-in me likes, but could work on someone more daring.

I love them and use them (sparingly). I need more volume on my legs and these add that visually!

Like Una I need more volume on my legs, especially with boots. These look like a good idea. I'd been toying with the idea of using faux fur for a similar purpose, cutting up a faux fur hat and using Velcro to fasten if needed. Thank you for posting your boot cuffs.

Given what Una and Joy say, I must say I'm disinclined to try them myself. I don't need any extra bulk on my lower legs. I like your descriptions of how you're wearing them, though, and will admire them on you and others!

I wear ankle warmers. Sometimes you just need some bulk.

I would do what Diana does too and wear socks inside and scrunch them for a leg warmer look as I can take the bulk in my boots. I do it with some flat booties that I have.

I like some of the thinner scrunched sock looks. Not super-thin, but soft woolens, some cottons.
I think it also depends a lot on leg length, proportions, boot shaft. So there would be a sweet spot or style &thickness for different people and outfits.

I have done this with extra long socks and tall boots, and once or twice I have cut the feet off of some old socks to make boot cuffs. I always go with a tonal look, not high contast, and nothing terribly bulky because I like to keep as sleek as possible of a line on my legs.

I am a lover of socks with boots, even with tall boots and tights, I have to wear socks. I started buying knee high merino wool ski socks in dark colors and patterns to match my tights and boots. Some days they will peek, and sometimes they wont. I only wear the chunky socks with my mid-calf or ankle boots though. The ski socks are thinner and dont usually slouch.

I dont have enough room to wear super chunky knits in any of my boots! I do like the look on others though.

I like the idea of boot cuffs and would probably give them a try if I lived in a colder climate. They look warm and cozy.

I'm not a fan of the look on myself, but I don't mind legwarmers on others, especially if styled as in #2. In fact, I probably would just have assumed that the chunky knit in #2 was socks. I do wear over-the-knee socks with boots sometimes, though, to help fill out the boot.

Not for my age and style(any of them)+I have thick calves:-) but I actually like nr 1 (even if seasonally confusing and never seen it IRL). Would look just fun for the younger generation:-).
