Bookending Boots - YouLookFab Forum

I was looking for a pair of gray boots, and found these, which are pretty much exactly what I was looking for: http://www.luckybrand.com/Hibi.....lt,pd.html .

But I'm also looking for a pair that will bookend my hair, and the light brown version is ADORABLE: http://www.luckybrand.com/Hibi.....lt,pd.html

So here are my questions:

1) Is it totally unreasonable to buy two colors in the same boots?
2) Can I pretend my hair is lighter than it is, and use the light brown to bookend? And if not, can I pretend that this color will be just as versatile as a cognac (that really would match my hair, and thus effectively bookend)?

Oh-- and one more question: Can I wear such light colored footwear in the winter?

And, a pic attached that pretty accurately shows the color of my hair.

I really like the light brown. To me they look like they match your hair pretty well, they have darker brown with high lights.

I love the second pair - the Tuscany.
I worry the first might be too cool, depending on your wardrobe. I'm assuming you might tend to wear warmer colors?

Oh those are pretty boots and you are beautiful. What a glorious head of hair you have. I would love to see you bookend that lovely halo with the light brown/chestnut color boots. And what a hunk there on your arm too.
No I do not think it is bad to buy the boots in 2 different colors.

tarzy, you'd be surprised how many cool-colored clothes I have (I think it works because I'm so pasty). So really, the question is, do I buy the grey AND the sandy ones, or just the grey. Sounds like I'm hearing the sandy ones are a win.

Yes! I love the sandy ones for you. In fact, if you could only get one pair, those would bookend really well (and of course you can wear them with grey clothes). Just my two cents. Your hair is beautiful, you're smart to think of bringing out it's color with boots.

OK, I think I'm buying the sandy ones first, ignoring the fact that they're not as dark as my hair, and hoping that the grey ones are still there to squeeze into October's budget!

I will be the odd one here - I like the sand ones! they will look great with skirts and dresses and bare legs - they should be pretty low contrast to your skin, right?
While it is wise to have a pair of boots to bookend your hair you should have other options as well- especially as it looks you are really in love with these sand boots.
I bought a pair of grey boots last fall because I fell in love with them. They are darker than yours but still not bookending my brown hair. They were my favorite boots last winter and worked virtually with everything!

tarzy, those are darling-- but I definitely don't want ankle boots! Somehow, that's what all the cute cognac ones I'm finding are, but at 5'4", I don't have enough leg to shorten!

Hi Di, I love these boots! I have a 2 pairs of identical boots in different colors form last winter. One pair is one of my workhorses, the other doesn't get worn as frequently. If they were both going to be everyday boots, I would want more variety. How high are they? They look kind of tall, at 5'4", you might be looking for a slightly lower boot.

A perfectly comfy and calf-fitting boot is HARD to find. Try one color (I also vote for the more brown color) first. If you love it, then I say go for the other color, too! Who knows how long it will be before another style fits as well?
