Big Bags - Which is Fabbest? - YouLookFab Forum

My Kate Spade Zebra Tote has served me well for the few days of week I carry it to work - it fits my lunch and a change of shoes perfectly, or I can cram in my lunch and yoga clothes and balance my yoga mat on top. For winter I'd rather have a bag that zips up, and a bit more space can't hurt.

Soooo I have earmarked a chunk of my bonus for a stylish alternative and compiled a shortlist of big satchel-type bags. They all offer a bit more room than my current Kate Spade and winged shapes are conducive to balancing a yoga mat.

Which do you think is most stylish?

The shape of #3 appeals to me. I'll be following what everyone else says, since I'm also shopping for a black satchel.

Merwoman, that Kate Spade bag is lovely! I eyed it but it is not big enough to hold my stuff.

What it lacks in size, it makes up for in price!
I checked out the Steve Madden - but it looks too big for me...but maybe I just need to try it on in person. Thanks for posting it!

I'm loving #3 the most- beautiful shape and simple styling. There's always a risk of growing tired of zippers, buckles, bows and similar embellishments.

From the main contenders list, I like #3 best. But I also like both of the wild cards.

I'm considering it from another angle. You often see guys with nice gym bags but women tend to carry very big handbags, as pictured. Why not the spiffy gym bag version with a clutch (strap optional) inside? After all, shoes, mat, even lunch, is gear.

#7 is a great looking gym bag! I use a gym bag every day, and a purse/ bag as well. Gym bag for gear ( shoes, gym clothes, towel, toiletries) and sometimes a pair of work shoes and a lunch bag. Purse/ bag for everything else, and big enough for iPad.

I'm liking 4 and 6, with a strong preference for 6. (I'm a sucker for Kate Spade bags, though, and honestly, I had my eye on that bag this whole season but couldn't talk myself into it because I already have a good black tote and the other color combos didn't appeal to me.)

I like #7 in the wildcard section too. I have come to the conclusion that bag shape is the most important factor and the preference very personal. I almost ordered the lovely bag Sveta was debating and also find the look of Shannon's structured ladylike bags very appealing but those are the type of bag that sits unused on my shelf while I use the less structured style/shape.

I would suggest you review the go to bags of the past year or two and then stick with the shape you find the most useful.
